Reviving this thread.. Any other members from SW Michigan? I trailered from Bridgman to the marathon station on M-140 and rode to Paw Paw and back. 97 miles, trailers were in fair condition. I was riding solo so I took it slow and easy. Still looking for riding partners in the area :)
It's not so much that they are set up for Garmin and Lowrance as it is that those companies are using a file system the map builders made maps with. Your no name GPS more than likely uses the Garmin format. I'd try to find a brand and model for it to figure out what file system it uses...
I know with redpinemapping you select the map format you needed based on the brand. So you'd have to figure out what format it uses.

Can you tell me a little more about your hard wire setup? I bought a bare wire plug from I believe Mountguys. It worked great for running wires directly to the battery. The only issue I've had is that there is a voltage reducer that steps the power down from 12v to I believe 4.5v. This...
That was my thought too. I think the Nuvi 50 (or similar models) is the sweet spot for sledding. It gives you everything you need at a pretty modest price. If my takes a dump, I'll happily pick up another $50-$80 unit and march on for another few seasons.
Another route you may want to check out is Trailsystems. They make a mount that goes on your instrument cluster. No drilling or cutting required.

How come you don't want to drill into the riser? Re-sale value or worried about structural integrity? If it's the ladder, I can tell you my Apex has taken numbers bumps, flips, and rolls and I haven't had any issues. I have pics of my mount setup in this sub forum if you search under my name..
I have ski-doo wheels on my 06 Apex, but they are taller than stock (135mm vs 130mm) and the bearing is wider. I had to have my wheel mounts machined. I've had zero issues with the wheels other than repacking and sometimes replacing bearings.

I'd like to bring my sled but right now I don't have a place. Not sure yet if I'll be in apartment or house. Going to be staying with a friend for a few weeks until I find something. If I have the time I definitely will. Thanks for the leads.
Anyone live in this area? I currently live near Green Bay, WI but moving to the Benton Harbor area next week.
I can see from the MI trail maps that it's pretty sketchy that far south, looks like a person needs to get about an hour north to hit a bigger part of the trail network. I'm not...
His problem has nothing to do with the cigarette lighter end.
There are little tabs in the USB connection that are spring loaded or at least bent up to provide resistance to keep the plug in place and prevent the problem that you are having. They are most likely just wore out. I would...
