I did the tracks USA 128 extention and am running an ice ripper xt track. Sounds like I ride about the same way you do we just get a little more ice in NY i'd say. In hind sight I wish I had done the relocate its suppose to help with trenching and cuts the approach angle down on the skid...
I think its just a vent. I guess i could see putting some oil in there would be a good thing with a new rebuild. That way you would have some oil on fresh parts for the first crank.
