Good news, I got sick of wondering and worrying so I went to the garage and pulled the stator cover to check the rod. It's hard!! Couldn't scratch it at all with my file. I am very happy. Like you said I don't think there is as many bad rod engines out there as initially thought.

Ok that was my next question about whether you can up rev limit with it. I am doing Ulmer can and air box mod so I will probably want the rev limit increased and probably have to play around with my clutching a bit.
Anyone running the Electronic Jet Kit by dobeck performance? Local distributor sells them way cheaper than the PCV, they come programmed already for airbox and can. any feedback would be great!

More pressure in the ski shocks and the rear skid shock, less preload on the front skid spring. That's what I do on mine for trail riding. Still not the greatest but it keeps the front end down and bites a little better.
Only Issue with not getting the flash is that if you do have an issue with the starter Yamaha may not warranty it because you chose not to do the flash that was supposed to "fix" the starter issue.
Last 2 days when i cold started my sled I held the key a little longer after it fired and it stayed running. hopefully this works out. these 2 days is wasn't as cold as last week though.

Bought my non current 2016 in April and but 0 miles on and maybe only started it 2-3 times before my dealer called me mid november to get the flash. never noticed any starting issue the 2-3 times i started it, now that i have the flash starting cold it will fire once then stall, second attempt...
I have someone local who has a venture 144 skid for sale. Would this be as good or does the venture also have the steep approach angle? Any problems with putting a venture skid into an attak?
