In the end I stuck with the Nytro. You gave me food for thought though thanks guys.
I am in the process of a head shim now. You have that right, there is never enough power.
How hard would it be to put the nytro engine in a apex chassis. I thought i read that the motor mounts line up, would I just need spacers side to side to line up the clutch? I was thinking I would get a header and build a turbo for it.
can anyone describe what they do to return the oil to the top of the engine on a Nytro using the vacuum? I have a rear mount and I am thinking about removing the pump.
well I dont want to clog up your post. But I was thinking about pressing the drivers. Im thinking I am confusing myself here without looking at it and just putting it in words.
So the driveshaft is only so long and the chaincase can move on it side to side. The only problem is the length...
thats awesome, nice work.
Thanks for the ideas, I think I will try that. The chaincase will be moving out from the chasis so Im not sure I need spacers there, the clutch side I can spacer off the chasis for the drive shaft. And as you know the jackshaft sticks out on the clutch side so I...
cool setup. I see on snowest you are planning to re-do it since it is thin.
I assume from what you have planned here you plan to run the aluminum under the chaincase right off the tunnel. On mine I have .25" aluminum and I realized yesterday it wont fit under the chancase. I will have to...
so out of curiosity what did you base the motor mount hole distance on? Did you get measurements from a Yamaha chassis and put them in CAD? I guess another way to put it is how did you determine the distance for the belt (clutch center to center)?
I see we were both a bit inspired by the new viper chassis.
I was looking at putting in a separate support on the clutch side, but you are incorporating it into the motor mount. Looks good, its making me think a bit more. Im thinking about measuring some distances on the Nytro chassis and...
we talked about this project a bit on snowest...I too am putting the yamaha engine in a RT chassis. Im interested in following this. Is your plan to remove the stock mounts and fabricate sides to hold the engine and jackshaft?
I actually looked at removing the side bulkhead plates from my...
so do you need the ability to remove fuel at idle when you put on the apex regulator? Im not sure what the stock pressure at idle is for the apex. I only have a piggy back/dobeck right now.
