Just did this last night. I used silicone grease around the inside of the rubber boots, made sure none of them were folded over. It was impossible to get all 4 when they were dry...once lubed up they slid right into place. You can tell if they're on all the way by looking ins from the airbox...

If you think getting it off was a pain, wait til you try to put it back on. You have to fiddle with the reverse dogs and get them lined up right, and dont' forget that little spring in the reverse idler.

Agree completely. E10 = no problem. Now, I don't entirely buy the environmental advantages - too much politics in ethanol. But it doesn't damage engines.

New sleds from any mfgr = new tooling, new marketing, new dealer training, new warranty claims. Too expensive these days in a decreased toy market. We'll know in a few hours, I guess, but I'd be astonished if Doo came up with any significant new models.

I must disagree. TORS has been one of the most consistently problematic snowmobile inventions since it was introduced more than 20 years ago. In the years I've owned Yamahas, I can't even remember how many times I've had to temporarily bypass it, nor how many disconnect-lanyards I've installed...

No...other than the obvious safety issue, there is no worry about bypassing TORS

IIRC, the new model OEM windshield doesn't use support brackets. About 1000 miles ago, I opted for a Cobra tall windshield. No brackets, works great even at 100mph.

At 265, your problem with soft suspension is more likely the spring. It would likely be cheaper to pull the Ohlin shock and spring, send the shock to Pioneer and get it revalved, and get a heavier spring. You can call Bruce there, tell him what you weigh and how you ride, he'll fix you right up...
