Click, click, click while trying to crank? (08Vector)

I've read quite a few posts prior to this one and it seems like it can be a problem once in a while. Mine just did this, again, where I turn the key but get nothing. It initially fired and ran great then I shut the sled off once warm. Jockeying the sled around in the garage, I retried it and...

Lost the nut/washer for the Yamaheater toggle switch in the dash.

Just noticed while working on the sled that I lost the little nut and washer that holds the toggle switch in place on the dash. If memory serves, it's a small nut about 1/2 the thickness of a regular nut and it could be chrome? Just curious if anyone happens to know the size and thread of this...

Lost the nut/washer that holds the toggle switch in the dash for Yamaheaters

Does anyone know the size/thread of this small nut? It's the toggle switch with the small red rubber cap on it. I just finished writing them/Rock but thought I'd also ask here in case they are away or busy? Thanks in advance.

No dash lights but it has power?

I posted this in the RS section but thought I should post this here as well? Anyways, after a long sleep, (18-19 months with no rides or fire ups), I put my battery back in and buttoned everything up but get no dash lights or anything when I turn the key on? The motor will crank (haven't added...

    Long time no see!!

It's been a while but hopefully I am back for good? Last year, with my son playing Rep hockey and the lack of snow around these parts, neither sled even got fired up. My son decided to go back to house league this year so hopefully the weather co-operates as we will definitely have more time...

Finally got out for a ride!!

Haven't been on here much lately, no snow, no riding, busy with my son's hockey etc, but Friday we finally got out. Left work early Thursday to get sleds ready, loaded up etc and when I went to start my son's XLT, snap went the pull cord! Got it removed quickly and took it my bud at Oshawa Cycle...

Another battery question, but a quick one

My son and I finally got our first ride in the past Friday, but it almost never happened due to a dead/drained battery while trying to unload the sleds. Luckily a guy just driving in to check out the Club House had a set of booster cables with him! Anyways, it's time for a new battery as this...

Got a couple beauty rides in this past Thurs/Friday!!

Rode from the Port Perry SC and headed east to a place called Old Baldy (old play area for 4x4's, atv's, dirt bikes etc) headed north from there up through some great trails into some open groomed fields on my way to Lake Scugog. Crossed Scugog then rode the island trails and came back down...

Yamaha Demo ride at Port Perry this past Saturday.

Pretty decent turn out today despite the weather. Rode a 14 Vector 128, a 14 Apex XTX and a Viper LTX. Out of the 3, I liked the Vector the best, but maybe because I'm partial to them? The Viper was nice, just not my cup of tea, but then again, only riding it for approx 5-6 km's, is not...

Please explain compression and rebound to me.

Got my shocks rebuilt/re-valved in the off season and the last two days I have been trying to get everything dialed in. I believe I have the rear mono as good as it is going to get but I am having trouble getting my fronts dialed in. I used Catman's recommendations the last couple years, 3...

Got out with my son on our first ever trail ride together.

My son, who is 12, got his sled license last Sunday so he was Jonesing to get our for a ride! I took the day off Friday and did the same for him from school. Headed out around 9 to great trails, although it was the foggiest I have ever seen sledding, but all in all a great day. We did...

    Donuts are likely shot?

Yesterday I decided to try the donut test where you plug the rear exhaust with towels/gloves and see if your sled stalls. I used 2 heavy towels and held them on there for over 10 seconds and my sled didn't stall. :o| It stumbled like it was going to but it didn't. The sled was...

OFSC permit link up and running now.

Just purchased 2 a short while ago and it was painless, but I assume it is likely going to get busy real soon. https://permits.ofsc.on.ca/en

    Rear mono suspension install question?

Just re-installing my mono suspension after getting my shoxk serviced and I am confused on the back washers/bolts? Do the washers go directly behind the head of the bolt or do they go behind the bracket on the suspension shaft itself? I have done this a couple times now but today for some...

    Rear skid bushing kit(s)?

Curious who has all changed out their rear skid bushings? My 08 Vector currently has around 6,500 km's (4000 miles) and I wonderin if I should replace the rear bushings while the skid is out? Things look pretty good back there bushing wise but I am also not an expert. I seen the Pioneer...

    Royal Distributing spring compressor?

Considering this as I know no other way of getting my spring off my Mono shock? I looked at it yesterday and it looked to small/short to me but looking at this pic and seeing how they show it, it might just work after all? Anyone ever use one with good luck or is there another way of...

Plastic skis for a 95 XLT SP?

My son, who will be 12 by next winter will be riding my old Indy XLT so I am curious what would be the best/easiest to steer plastic ski/carbide combo for him? It currently has the original stock steel skis with Woodies dually carbides on it and although I haven't ridden it yet with this...

    A few questions.

Just summerizing my Vector the other day and decided to drain the float bowls this year for some reason? (Been 3yrs now with no issues not draining them) Anyways, I was unable to get the middle carb Allen head bolt out no matter how hard I tried and not wanting to strip it I stopped. The...
