    Sway bar bushing proper fix

I finally had enough of the slop in the sway bar Link bushings. I bought iolite brass 14x18 and 18 long. Had drill out the bulkhead with a 11/16 bit and used a die grinder to finish the hole and tapped the bushing right in 30 min fix.

2.52 vs 2.86 pitch, really.... which is better for top end?

My 16 apex has the 2.86 set up. It's time once again to replace the track. It's got me thinking. I would like to know from someone that has been down this road that has compared the two drives. Same length, same sled, same tack model. I know 2.86 tracks are generally lighter, by that nature...

tuner ski carbides. Is there a carbide that really works?

My apex came with the tuner skis, I right away put my simmons skis I used on my other past apexs. Now they are worn out . Tuners are great for not darting, but they push too much. the stock carbides are small and weak. I would like to know if anyone has tried the carbides form snow trackers...

Apex sway bar bushings. Too thin!!

Is there any better bushings than the thin plastic factory ones? Mine have worn through and have started to wear into the bulk head. The only real solution I can see is to have brass bushings made and bore out the bulk head to fit them. If someone already has made such a thing I would likely...

Whats with single ply tracks and studs?

My 2016 apex acme with a 129 2.86 pitch single ply track. I studded it with the larger headed studs and backers. Well it destroyed itself in 2 seasons, 5 pull outs at once on my last ride. Pure garbage track. I replaced the track with a 2 ply and I am going to stud again. Would I need the larger...

    Another single shot post

I have owned my 16 apex 129 for a week now. I agree with 99% with others that it is step backwards in ride, just about as bad as a 03 rx1 or maybe a srx. I played with pressures from 170 to 230. Today I took the rear transfer blocks out, with 200 lbs. The ride is a lot better, not the constant...

    Elka shocks, anyone use them?

These look real good to replace a the fox in a single shot, with different levels of upgrades. But haven't heard a dam thing about them. Has anyone here use them on anything?

    should I buy a 2015 or a 2016 apex?

I've been searching for low mileage used xtx apexs, and have found a 15 and a 16. I have read some on the 15 and the star kit making it ride better. Not sure if the shocks have to be worked on with it or not, but the 15 has the star kit. Now the 16 has the air shock in rear and also have read...

    Doing a 121 to 136 stretch, what a pain in the #*$&@

I wanted to do a stech of my apex mono to a 144 or 136. I understood the geometry is completely wrong for the 144 and not as bad for the 136. But I can say the 136 is almost undriveable with just adding rail extensions. To have proper track tension amd not skip over the drivers on whole shot...

Stiff ride after track extension on apex

I'm not sure why but not the sled seems to be a stiff ride and rough ride since I stetched it out to a 136. I was expecting the opposite with it bottoming out more without getting a heavier spring.

    apex 121 to 144 owner's input please

I am very undecided about stretching out my 121 mono apex to a 144. The research I have done seems to say that it might not be a great idea. There is something about the track getting to tight when the suspension compresses and it seems to get worse when it is stretched. From what i have been...

121 to 136 tipped or strait

I am considering doing a stretch on my apex. Not sure whether not there is an advantage to useing a tipped rail extension with a 136. I was hopeing someone has used a 136 tipped setup, and has something to say about it good or bad.

My 07 apex vs all current 800's

I had a blast last weekend running on a small lake . The distance was about 1300-1400 feet. I run all afternoon and never lost to and 800 at the end of the lake. Some of the 800's would kick my #*$&@ in 660, but we weren't running a short race, thank god. I'll post a link to some of the races...

    Did anyone else notice this

I watched the promo vids on the new viper. Something seemed strange about a few things. One, the sound of the sled sometimes didn't sound right. Like it was a the twin cat engine. Second. I paused the vid when the camers panned across the front of the hood. I saw through the front vents an...

2011 apex is it really any better?

I sold my 2006 after driveing it almost 22000 miles. Now I'm thinking about buying a left over 2011 apex shorty or a good used pre 2011 apex. I know that they steer better. But I have'nt really heard if they are any faster or not. Both seem to have about the same actual dyno numbers. Also I...

    High milers, check bulkhead

My 06 apex has 21000+ miles on it now, and now it's starting to show it. I should have checked on this a year or two ago. The rivets joining the tunnel to the center section on the clutch side have loosened up and worked around the rivets and enlarged the holes some what to the point the tunnel...

    clutch offset

I decided to check my offset lastnigh. I went into the tech pages on this site. I find the methods of checking this to be contrary to each other. One was was to use a flat bar and open secondary and move secondary to have the flat bar in the center of the primary. second was to use the 25mm...
