    Replacing track tension collar 8DM-47479-00-00

I knew there would be a nay sayer. Trust me, it happens.

    Replacing track tension collar 8DM-47479-00-00

That pic is wrong IMO. Solid axel should go in from left to right, and the nut on the right side of the sled. If the nut is on the left, it can freeze overnight, and when you take off in the am it can loosen the nut. Happened to me. Lost the nut and the wheel before I saw it.

    Where Do You Go Now

I will run my 2022 until it won't anymore. My buddy has 40k miles on his 2017 SW and no issues. They will run a long time with routine maintenance. Never really understood the need to switch sleds every couple years only to get into the same issues and no real upgrade.

Had to change plans. Was set to leave out of Mont Laurier, but 63 was closed until this morning through Mont Tremblant park. Just my luck, canceled reservations last night. Now leaving out of St Raymond. Up to Relais 22. Over the lake to Alma. Down to Four Points Sheraton. Over to Lac...

DMC top gear wear (good things)

Yes, my buddy had to have his serviced in Quebec last year on our trip. This dealer installs them all the time they claimed and last over 30k kilometers according to the mechanic. He said that all new winders leave their shop before being ridden with the plastic top gear bushing. My buddy put...

Yeah, I hear you on that, however, I cant imagine a little debris on the magnets would wear through the chaincase. Magnets came out of the holder for some reason. Sled is back together. Will report back after a few hundred miles after I take it apart.

So, I got the new cover. It fits on beautifully as you would expect. I stuck a wired scope attached to my phone through the reverse hole. It looks good. I don't know what to say. What are the torque specs for the cover?

I did not clean the magnet or gears. Took cover off, put cover on. I will pay close attention from now on to the magnets. Only new oil is going in from now on. Gonna use Amsoil gear oil. Anybody know what viscosity it is. Doesn't say on the bottle.

Rubber was super soft. Could squeeze it together with no problem at all, compared to the new one I put in last night, it was hard like a hockey puck. Right now we are going with something in the oil softened the rubber. The gear oil bottle has been open since last summer. Both snap rings are...

IDK Mr. Sled. I must admit that when I had the chaincase cover off in the fall, I never looked at the magnets, but having said that, I have never looked at the magnets.

    Need serious help!!

My only guess is that somehow the magnets came out of the cap. I never took the chaincase gears out this year. Took the cover off, drained the fluid, inspected things visually and put the cover back on. I split the brake caliper, took the brake caliper off, took the seal off the brake...

    Need serious help!!

Gear oil was Mobil 1 75W90. Nothing was put together wrong. Between my sleds and others that I work on, have done this 20 times or more. Also, tensioner wheel bolt is welded, so that is not a factor. I'm totally stumped.

There were 4 magnets on the foot board when I was on the side of the trail. 3 in the chaincase when I opened it, and 1 still in the cap. Stain, I changed the oil at 500 miles and put in the DMC top gear last year. So second time it's been opened. My buddy brought over a new cap tonight and...
