X2 on fresh gas,get the seafoam out of there, had h can in my boat with a 4.3 and would hardly run until siphoned out and put fresh gas in and then pured like a kitten.
that does not sound very comforting, dealer I talked with that has one on E-bay said he doent know about them because he did not remember selling one.
Thanks for the reply, Glenn
Had the chain case apart to inspect gears ect. , everything looked fine. Went for a ride and noticed a whine when slowing down,is this normal I cant really remember from last year?
Theres a thread on the nytro site all about straps, not sure if that will help you. I have an 05 vector and the straps both frayed and broke. I put cat straps on as they are made of differant material and after 4500 miles still look like new.
Would removing the filter in the air box on a warm day when just trail riding, when you dont have to worry about any snow injestion net you any mph? Anybody done that?
The straps are junk. After breaking two straps in 500 miles on my pro-active I put arctic cat straps on and now have over 5000 miles and they still look like the day I put them on.
-what do you mean by this? re-arched the torsion springs to provide 4-5" of additional ride height (once ice built up my sled sat very low stock and was very easy to bottom out. I tried the optional "heavy duty" springs, but the ride height was even lower).
I put the O-ring kit in at 500 miles and after 4200 miles is still not to bad. With more miles may get a little more noisy, but not anywhere near the way it was.
You should be able to bottom the sled and not worry about the tunnel bending. For the weight up there[muffler], Yamaha has to put in better stiffners or a total redesign.
I have been smelling my belt a lot at real slow speed and does look pretty shiney, has about 2700 miles on it. I did pick up a new belt and will let you know where its at after. Did clean both clutches and I saw i am definately not blowing out my primary often enough.

I have a bone stock 05 Vector with 4000 miles, belt has about 2000miles on and 144 studs. On aloose groomed trail from dead stop will pull 8400-8500 and then in about a mile will kreep up to 8900 RPM. Is this normal or what could be done to lower it? If the motor is OK at running that RPM I...
