This should be a recall, someone is going to get seriously injured or killed one of these days.
Go to Arctic Cat dealer and get P/N 2707-776 thats the updated steering post bracket kit. That's what my dealer installed on my Viper.
The Collett Platinum 900 communicator works automatically. When you speak it transmits. You can adjust the pick up on the microphone to adjust how loudly you speak. If its too low the engine noise will turn the mic on. I have the set up in an old BVS3 Ski Doo Modular helmet. I use the helmet...
I've never had FXR or the Keweenaw. I do own the Klimate suit. It's very warm. I leave the underarm breathers open unless it dips in the -30s C.
I rode in the rain last march and was very dry afterwards. My hands were soaked (not Klim), have since bought Klim waterproof gloves. Will be ready...
I bought the CKX Titan helmet last year. The helmet it self is great. Feels light, really enjoy the opening mouthpiece its a bit airy but I get hot when I ride even when it's -30c. I really like the helmet.
But..
The googles are a foggy disaster. The way they clip and fit the helmet is great...
After a couple of warranty spring and shock replacements, I gave up Yamaha service and sent my rear shocks to Cannondale. He fixed them up and now I love my Viper. It rides awesome now.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Aubry to Halfway Haven is not possible. There is a big washout on the 201F Just before you hit the D trail to Halfway. The only way to halfway is from Searchmont/Sault or Chapleau.
I would call or email the Sault Trailer Blazers before you leave...
I have tried multiple rear torsion springs the stock and the two other stiffer OEM springs. The stiffer springs were way too stiff. I have also installed the Yamaha 4 way billet adjustment blocks to add more tension to the stock rear springs. Still had the dead rear end after riding rough...
Would this spring help my 2016 STX DX 137? The ride on my sled is terrible. The steering on my sled is excellent with the curve skis, I have the exact amount of tension on the front rear spring for handling, but if I hit any rough trail I have no plushness at all. It just bottoms out after a...
Thats what he told me. Makes no sense to me. If I had to do it with my truck it would be fixed right away. But somehow it's ok with sled? Yamaha really should get their act together. Oh well I'm going riding.
Had mine reflashed today. The territory rep from Yamaha was in town and I was there. The mechanic brought me to talk to to him to explain what's happening to my sled.
He asked if I would bring the sled in.
They put a pressure test on fuel pump found it was pushin 40 psi every turn of key...
The viper is definitely not an ideal two up machine. With the stiffer springs you will be fine with two people. But riding alone is like driving a meat wagon.
My 13 year old is is probably about 150 she's very tall and me at 290 dressed. I set it at the highest spring rate and we will bottom...
I have the STX Dx 137 with 1.6 Cobra. I ride about the same ratio of trail/break trail as you. I cant really speak about the 1.25 on the viper. The 1.6 on my sled is definitely better deep soft snow then my buddies polaris Pro S with the 1.25. Problem with my cobra 1.6 is I've been told I can't...
I have had mine stop running while idling after the engine has been warmed up. Only a few times since flash in Dec. Speedometer is still way lower then actual gps speed and takes two turns of the key to start most times.
On Saturdays ride it was -20 C, I actually had to tap the throttle to...
I ride about the same ratio as you. My off trail is going ice fishing though not really ripping through the bush. I put the XS on my Viper and love them. It made my sled feel lighter. With 4" stock carbides and no studs, I can whip the rear end around corners on the trail. The trail version...
There are lots of them at my local Yamaha dealer right across the river from Sault Mich.
If you pay US funds the exchange rate is usually 30 percent around here.
