I have this same setup except I have a thin washer in the tip. Also not sure what belt you’re using but I had problems with the stock 8jp and 8dn dragging my Rpms down. I’ve been using a gates 8jp and have it adjusted to sit flush with the secondary and now it pulls great. 95mph sled on trail...
-50 here today so I just had to go outside and see if the sleds would start. Two 16 vipers with the new flash both haven't been started in about a week and have been sitting outside. Both cranked over for about 7-10 seconds and fired right up. I was very surprised
I wonder why that would be. I will say I have a 16 and the new flash completely changed my sled for the better. instant starts all day where as before it would take 3-4 attempts to get it started and revs up faster and cleaner. No more off idle hesitation. This is how the sled should have ran...
A 46/40 helix works real good for trail riding as well. My rtx with SPI can, airbox mod, big venom kit and 46/40 helix is a 90mph sled in the worst conditions and a 100mph sled on good groomed trails. Last year I couldn't break 85 across a lake. The helix eliminates track spin on take off as well
I thought about doing the same
Thing. The lever feels way nicer and I like that it's plastic. The aluminum one is cold on the fingers. Let us know how it works
If you're looking for top speed I would do a track change. The quiet bumps that the wheels rest on that are on the ripsaw 2 would do more to lose top speed than not having a fully clipped track
I had mine done today and was only able to test it on the trailer. It definitely starts better. Tried 5 or 6 times and it started first try each time. It also seems like it revs up way nicer now. I guess faster and cleaner would be a good way to describe it. Before mine would sometimes hesitate...
You should be fine. I have a can and airbox mod and an afr gauge. Without a programmer my sled runs consistently around 14.5 afr. I had a programmer on mine but I think the mapping was a root of my low rpm issues so I unplugged it and am running the stock map, which I've been told is the best...
I have a 16.5 and don't have any complaints other than taking a few try's to start every once and a while which isn't too big of a deal. Mine always isles smooth, sled always stays within 50 Rpms while idleing. Never had a hot start issue and no kickbacks. maube I'm just lucky. Top speed could...
Somebody on the first Facebook page made a post about somebody developing a new plug and play ecu for the viper to eliminate these issues. The post was pretty vague for the most part and wouldn't say what company was making it. Haven't heard anythin since.
Based in your argument then I would say it's in cats best interest to fix the problem because they have plenty of 7000's out there with the same
Problems and they are not going anywhere. The agreement was for yamaha to use their motors in a cat sled. using cats ECU makes total sense. Otherwise...
I don't have any issues with hard steering. My reason for switching out to the heavier spring is to make the front end lighter when I hit the throttle. There's times when you come up on something in the trail that you need to lift the skis a bit to get over such as railroad tracks or branches...
im looking for opinions from people with an RTX who have done the 160 lb center spring mod. I'd like some more transfer to make the sled a little more playful but I'm thinking that spring might make the sled handle bad in the twisties?
