    It’s finally over for Yamaha

I bought my first ever Yamaha in 2006 when I ordered my Apex. I loved that sled and bought my wife a 2008 FX Nitro that I hated yet my wife liked it. I then bought a 2017 Sidewinder that we both really liked a lot. After a couple years of ownership I realized that the Winder had way too much...

Yep I went through all that BS including the roll over valve bypass and hose protectors under the tunnel and many other things. Right now I'm driving my C8 to and from golf everyday and couldn't care less about snowmobiles at this point. All I want out of sledding these days are trouble free...

Everyone and I mean everyone on these forums complained about the Winders stock performance when it first came out. They said it was a dog out of the hole and performed like crap for a 200 hp sled. I wasn’t one of them and that’s probably why I was one of the few who never tuned theirs. I did...

You are talking top end wide open for long distances. I said my results were racing shorter distances and I have no idea how they compare wide open top end.

That BS clutch kit lasted a couple hundred miles on my sled before I pulled it out and went back to stock. The only thing I had in it after that was the orange secondary spring from Dalton. I was suckered into buying that clutch kit from all the BS and lies on this forum. It looks like not much...

My Sidewinder was no dog but unlike most every other Sidewinder it was completely stock. I really can’t say how they compare on a long run but my results were between 1/4 and 1/2 mile and our GPS speeds were 107 to 109 mph. We never had a chance to stretch them out on a lake or any length where...

I don’t know why there are so many who don’t believe a stock Mach can’t beat a stock Sidewinder. I have reported many times that my stock Renegade X 900r has beat my 2017 Sidewinder. My 900r runs really good and has no problem with Rpm’s like many have reported. I also have found that the...

My wife and I went to Quebec this winter after not being there since Covid started. There were no issue whatsoever and we went through both the Canadian and US customs quickly with no delays. What we didn’t like is because of Covid many restaurants have yet to reopen and probably never will...

Your 23 is stock! When have you ever owned anything stock?

I had a 89 Indy 650 and loved it. Those old 2 strokes were more reliable than any 2 stroke today and they used less oil. Back then they poured more fuel in them to keep them reliable, today they pour more oil in them. I’m never surprised when a modern 2 stroke blows up. They put out big power...

Make sure someone in your group has a tow rope. I don't know who has the most unreliable two stroke engines Poo or Doo. I did talk to a Poo dealer who said he keeps a couple short block 850 engines in stock during the season and always ends up using them.

I moved on from 2 strokes back in 2006 when I bought my Apex. The only 2 strokes I have left are my two chainsaws. I will never own another 2 stroke and as far as I'm concerned the only engines that are worth owning in snowmobiles are the Yamaha and Rotax 4 strokes. I love the 998 in the Winder...

Yep that’s what we do. We just try to justify our purchases. That’s what the idiots on DT said when I bought my Sidewinder and posted how much I liked it. I don’t have to justify anything I buy because if I don’t like it or want something else I just buy it. That’s what happened when I bought...

Yep that’s it. I didn’t see many Winders this year. Maybe they were all in the shop getting all those BOP fixes installed.

I’m really surprised at how far back the boost is.

I really haven’t had a chance to run the Winder against the 900R on a lake or anything much farther than a 1/4 to 1/3 mile. All I know is the runs I have made the 900 is quicker and just as fast or faster. Maybe on a longer run the Winder would pull away and that wouldn’t surprise me. As far as...

I took the clutch kit off shortly after I put it on. I hated the way it performed with it, all it did was burn belts. Like I posted earlier I ended up putting a Dalton orange secondary spring on it and left everything else stock. I was very happy with that setup.

I spent 500 bucks on a big vendors clutch kit that created lots of belt burning heat. I still have the kit sitting on my shelf in my shop. I ended up putting a Dalton orange secondary spring on it and everything else stock. I never felt the stock clutching was bad but I got sucked in from all...

I laugh when reading your posts Steve but I have had similar results with my 900R Renegade X.mine has run awesome right from the factory. When I went to my dealer for the Dess switch he asked if I wanted the update for my sled. I told them no but I would like my throttle and TPS checked. My...
