Rock who makes the yamaheater kits has a sweet HID kit too. I ran one in my 2012 apex and now that I'm back on an apex after a sidewinder I'll be putting HIDs on this apex too.
I suppose I miss the 4cyl sound and power steering. 20k+ for a new sled with PS is quite ridiculous. I only put 1500 miles or less on in a season, my 3500 mile years are done. The winder was a great sled but I think the apex is more my style now.
Is there much of a difference between ulmers kit and BOP oilite bushing kits? I picked up a used 2013 Apex ER model. If i remember right the kit I put in my 2012 XTX from ulmer there was 2 spindle bushings that were the wrong size or something and I couldn't use them. This was 8-9 years ago...
Seemed better today with the throttle stop backed out and some more freeplay in the cable but still not perfect. when they get done working on the gravel road by me i'll give it a real run and see how it acts. I did seafoam it earlier but that tank of fuel has been drained.
I sprayed the carb boot with carb cleaner and didnt get an obvious change in idle speed. I'll inspect it later on when I check the valve clearance and it's tore down more
I checked float level last night that was good. I'll play with the choke today, I'm currently using it to feed bears so I can't tear into it to deep. I found the throttle stop was only letting it hit 5/8 - 3/4 throttle too. I did find a manual but it must be for an older one with drums on...
Picked up a non running project. I cleaned the $40 knock off carb and it runs good at lower rpms but stumbled bad above 1/4 throttle. The neutral indicator light only comes on when in neutral then you push the shifter down and find the sweet spot to get it to light up. No big deal there yet...
Close to 6000 miles running powertrail tune with an Apex primary. The primary has been bullet proof. Rollers are still in good shape. I do run the 911 cover though
I have never noticed a difference in smoothness fully clipped vs clipped every other. I just like my slides to run on clips and I went from the 2.86 track with the quiet pads to a 2.52 pitch "normal" track.
I did 180 1.500 stud boys on my 129 with powertrail. Your pattern will make it handle good but be careful picking races if you are into racing your buddies, make sure its not a short race
Yeah my local dealer orders boats with "loose" rigging, its in the boat, in boxes, but not installed. The customer then can choose Yam or Etec. He keeps a few 115s and 150s in stock of both.
Yeah the paint is awesome! Will match the black/silver tritoon very well! The way he made it sound it didn't matter the model or size (150hp+), they are hard to get right now. So yeah built on demand or they can't keep up with demand? But either way I don't mind the wait plus the timing...
