I bought a set of Heavy Hitter adjustable weights from Thunder Products.
I loaded the primary to 62 grams and now pull 11500 +-200 from takeoff to WOT. No rev limiter.

My son has 2007 Mountain Lite. It is stock (clutching, gearing and track). The clutches are clean and the clutch springs were replaced last year. It is occasionally overrevving and I would like to slow the motor down 200-300 RPMs.
Is there a rule of thumb for weight add to RPM change...
M-10
I bought a used M-10 off craigslist. I then bought the Yamaha mount kit from Fast (it had been in a Polaris). I then added the rear airshock from Fast.
One advantage of installing a Fast M-10 is that most parts you need to mount (shafts and spacers) are available used or from Fast...
Scratchers
We have a 2007 Phazer Mountain Lite with the stock 2" track. I installed a second set of wheels towards the center of the rail and slidekicks scratchers. We have ridden in conditions were a Venture burned its hyfax and the Phazer MTX hyfax was fine.
We ride the Phazer in the...
Shock Rebuild
I have had good luck with Carver Performance out of St. Hilaire, MN. Mike has rebuilit Yamaha and Fox ZeroPros for me. Once when compression adjustment valve was stuck he sourced a used one for me.

M10
I have ran 121-136 TrackUSA extensions on a 121" M-10 for four years. It has held up well.
I run the M-10 with the Fast airshock in the rear and the Fox Zero Pro in the front. Works great.

Checklist
Here are a couple more.
Put the sled on a stand and check for play between the hyfax and the rails. If someone did not manage the hyfax, there are quite a few Phazers with missing metal on the front of the rails. I pulled the limiter strap up one hole on the two Phazers I have...
Nope
Steve,
The Vector LTX is not mine.
We are headed to Yellowstone over Christmas with another family. The 2012 LTX is theirs. It has power steering, and I am looking forward to trying it.
Have a Merry Christmas!!

Clutching Chart
I am hoping to find the charts on the Internet. The sled is not mine and I do not want to invest in service manual.
I can check with the dealer he bought it from if needed. My dealership sold their Yamaha franchise to a competitor that I am not fond of.....

I want to take a 2012 Vector LTX to West Yellowstone. Anyone know where I can find a clutching chart for this sled? Riding will be 7-9000 feet.
Thank you,

Scratchers
Here are a couple of ideas.
Cable scratchers from Slide Kicks. I have these on my mountain sleds.

Body mount from Shade Tree. I have these on my Vector, because I could not find a suitable mounting point in the...
Scratchers
Scratchers are a huge help in keeping the sled cooler when it is moving. We trail rode a Phazer Mtn with 1.75" lugs last spring with scratchers. It ran cool and had no hyfax issues. A Venture without scratchers was melting its hyfax.
Solution
Similar to cracks or worn holes in rails, take it to a good welding shop. They can weld in new material and then drill it out. Works great.

Tunnel Protectors
Phantom,
The tunnel protectors are for preventing studs from hitting exhaust and heat exchanger in the front.
I have ran my Vector for 4 years without them due to I wanted to carry less ice.

What I Did
jbos3331,
I got frustrated with my Yamaha stock suspension (mono) this year. The last straw was the transfer rod let go and took out my track.
What I did was I found a perfect Fast M-10 for $600, then bought a Yamaha mount kit from Fast for $200. The pros on the M-10: it...
Stretched 06 Vector
My 06 Vector is similar to what you are doing.
I stretched the sled with a Muffinworks tunnel extension and TracksUSA rails extensions and put on a 136 Predator with 1.25" lugs. I also geared my sled down (similar to your current gearing). Simmons skis were installed...
