I know you're saying it's under hood, but what rear suspension is under your sled? The reason I ask is I have an 08 Vector LTX GT with a mono suspension and going slow over stutters the transfer rod clunks. Just tossing that out there, sounds travel especially when you have a helmet on.
I have them on both of mine, love them! My Nytro seat is a lot firmer that my Vector seat though. Nytro is perfect with the seat and steering relocate.
I wired RSI 3 wire heaters on both of my sleds, along with a lot of others on this site. What brand did you go with? There were instructions on this site showing how to wire the RSI to factory wiring.
First when I bought my Vector new in 08 I had the same issue, it took a bit of time adjusting the ideal screw and testing. After a bit of adjustment it idled perfect and did not creep up after I stopped riding.
Curious as to what Dalton weights you are using? I bought a set last year after my supertips wore near the tips. I haven't had much luck getting them to perform like the supertips did.
I replaced mine with the updated bolt form Yamaha when I did my first track change at 7500km, changed my track again at 17,000km bolt was still in one piece.
There is an updated bolt for that. Early models were known for the broken bolt. If left it could wear through the case, I would definitely replace that bolt.
All good info! I would also check the exhaust gaskets and front end bushings! Do an oil change and chain case oil change for peace of mind, tension chain in chain case, adjust track tension, set up suspension for your style of riding, grease the rear skid and enjoy!
I've been looking at the VK Pro front end and I'm thinking the Apex/Vector/Venture front arms and shocks will bolt right up. Has anyone done this? My brother has a VK Pro and have been looking at widening the front as he finds it tippy.
