How do you remove the upper rear bogie wheels?

I've removed the wheel from the bearing. Cleaned and repacked the bearings still on the shaft.

What carbides for the curve ski's

I run 6" Woody's carbides round bar. And I have the skis shimmed aggressively. Tracks and steers nice. Virtually zero darting.

    A little advice needed.

I am in my late 50's. We ride lots of big mile days, especially in the UP of MI. We did a 280 mile day last season. The ergonomics of the Vipers are sweet. I've had two knee surgeries(torn meniscus). I wear knee braces just for extra support. Never had any knee aches riding.

    Fuel Pump going out?

Mine started making this noise this past winter. ~6700 miles on the sled. Cool good info. I was going to buy a new reverse actuator this fall.

    air intake and new flash

I have the Excell intake and Straightline header and can. Had the reflash done this season when it was available. Put on around 1500 miles with this combo. Sled ran great. My only complaint with the reflash is the sometimes multiple cranks to start the sled.

which header is the most favourable to use

I have the Straight Line header with over 2000 miles on it. Initially with MBRP can, now running the SLP can. The header so far been holding up great. The sled runs good with combination of Excel intake and my clutching. Power is best in the 9100 rpm range.

New to the Viper, looking for advice

I have a little over 6700 miles on my sled. It's been basically flawless for issues. All I've ever done beside my performance items was maintenance. Oil changes, repacked the drive axle bearing at 4000 miles. Replaced sliders twice to duponts and repacked the inner & upper idler wheel bearings...

    Cable scratchers

I drilled holes also. The cable ice scratchers work great. We were running on a icy very marginal snow covered road for miles. Before I put the ice scratches down, my coolant temp was around 190 f. I put them down and my coolant temps dropped in the 150 f range.

    which header

I have Hauck VP weights with his primary spring. His green secondary spring with a 45/39 helix. 6-1 wrap.

    Hard starting hot

After my starter kickback cal update. My sled usually takes at least two crank tries to start. This weekend I went to start my sled in my headed shop and it took three crank tries to start. A disappointing pain in the ....

    which header

I have over 2400 miles on the SLP header and can i installed last season. Been holding up great. Definitely a power difference then stock.

Hitting rev limiter hard with gates belt

My sled is a non turbo sled. But I have a SLP header and can, and a Excel intake. I am running Hauck VP weights and have them maxed out with my set up. I was running a 45/39 helix. I put in a 46/40 helix to drop the RPMs.

Hitting rev limiter hard with gates belt

I installed a Gates 40c4340 at the beginning of the season. Just to try it out. I was expecting a RPM drop. But to my surprise I was pulling max RPMs and was bouncing off rev limiter also. I have ~1400 miles on the belt. It is holding up well. The clutches look pristine clean.

    2600 rpm missfire

Mine does it too. It sounds worst with my can on it.

    viper belt

I've ran the 8Jp, 8DN, and the Gates 40C4340. They all worked good for me. Just required some minor clutch tweaking based on length & hardness. Currently running the Gates. It's a few mm longer then the 8JP and a few mm shorter then the 8DN, and a smidge wider. It seems like a good fit for...

Long cranks after kick back reflash cal update

I had my Viber calibration updated for the starter kick back issue. But now I knoticed I have long cranks before it starts. Anyone else notice this.

Am I gonna have a bad time if I take my LTX out west?

I rented. Some guys trailered their sleds. All the sleds we rode were mtn 153-155s. Polaris & cats. I rode a 800 cat.

Am I gonna have a bad time if I take my LTX out west?

I just got back from Albany WY. The snow in the hills and off trail was neck deep+. And we were between 9000-11,000 ft altitude. You will be fine if you stay on trail and some minor off trail. Anything more then that forget it. You need the long tracks and narrower ski stance for carving...

    Brake fluid issue

I swapped the track in my '14 Viper and my brakes pumped up relatively easy. Basically normal per say. A buddy of mine swap his track on his 2016 Cat 600 RR. He could not pump his brakes at all. He thought he broke something. He dropped the sled off to my place and it took me a long time to...
