    Great idea.

    Engine Compatibility

Is this a simple thing or does it involve resetting the timing chain? Thanks.

    Engine Compatibility

Thanks Travis. Will the cam difference cause any problems with the EFI or will it have to be reprogrammed?

    Engine Compatibility

Tried to call Travis, but no answer. I figured this might be a quicker way to get an answer, and hopefully he would chime in.

    Engine Compatibility

I have a 2015 Vector LTX that has lost compression at idle on #3 cylinder. I have a line on an engine from an '09 Nytro with low mileage. Are these two engines compatible? Both sleds are FI and I suspect that the external pieces can be bolt on, but would like a little confirmation before I...

To weld or not to weld-oil change issues!

I know this is an old thread, but I have just had the oil tank on my '15 vector start to leak. This started last winter, when I noticed oil stains on the snow. I watched the level and it only lost about 1/2 L per oil change so I wasn't too worried. Had the mid season change done at the...

    Ride Light Thought

But, if the ride light is integrated with the headlight, two things happen. First, you will lose the ride light at night because you will want the headlight to be white, and it will wash out the ride light if they are both on. Secondly, as a rider who usually rides either front or in the...

RX-vector-apex Skid plate inserts need #

Just came across this. I never thought that using WellNuts would work. That is great to hear about the successes as the steel ones do have a tendency to pull out, even when installed with a proper tool. I will have to start a search for larger WellNuts. Thanks!

    Yamaha Cutting Production for 2019

My EPS equipped Vectors use the larger 6005 bearings in all wheels, including the rear axle. I believe all the EPS sleds use the larger bearings, but I am not 100% sure.

“Where are the rest of the Yamaha snowmobiles?” and speculating about our future.

I am not holding my breath. You are optimistic and I applaud that. I sure hope you are right.

    2019 release

I 'thought' I had heard that the Vipers had a Yamaha ECU for 16 and on, but could be mistaken. No, I will not get a Cat, no matter what colour it is painted. Next sled will likely be a 'doo in 2020 once they get the kinks out of the G4 Cassis and the 900 Turbo. Would have preferred the 1200...

    2019 release

:(:(:(:( Maybe for the guys jumping to 2 strokes. But I have not heard of many 'doo 4 strokes having issues. I don't really know if I can ride a 'doo 4 stroke for an average of over 20000 Km, but I don't have that confidence in a Cat either, possibly other than the engine now that the cat ECM...

    2019 release

Probably 'doo for me. Likely 900 Turbo if the engine can hold together. Not expecting to get 20000 Km on it though. I don't expect it will hold together that long. Engine or chassis. Sad day indeed

LED Headlight Blubs - better than my HID's

I switched back to my HID's after trying LED bulbs. They were bright, but the position of the LED's on the bulb screwed up the focus. Lots of light all around but not enough down the trail ahead.

Anyone tried the Powerbloc 80 primary clutch?

Not sure how to comment on the Ulmer weights. However, the clutch comes with 12 weights for each of the three pucks. (more are available for a few bucks) My clutches came with 9 installed in each puck so you can easily add or remove them to tune to your liking.

    Warning ride light from Rock

Yes, there is a small light sensor built into the back of the unit. At night, (or if you cover the sensor with your hand) the LED's dim. I really wish this idea was more widely accepted / used. There is little knowledge of this system "out in the wild" from my experience. I have been showing...

What to do when there's no snow... MODS!

I would still fuse the circuit. While the LED's do not draw much current, the short circuit that might happen if / when the wire breaks will. Always fuse for the expected load (plus a bit of headroom) so that a short doesn't make a fuse of your wiring. JMO
