Very probable in the long term. Trail closures are individual nails in the coffin too. So sad but true and I feel fortunate I lived thru the Haydays of snowmobiling.
Yep that’s how it’s starts exchange information and technical details write off an engine or 2 support the customer during the integration and test and hope the integration kicks #*$&@ compared to in-house or competitors engine. This indicates Polaris is shopping for 4s engine applications and...
That has nothing to do with growing any OEM business. Lol Think whatever you want on whatever level you prefer I’m thinking on a much higher level of growing OEM loss engine revenue than what an end user website advertises. Lol. You think like an end user not an OEM opportunist. Your stuck in...
We are referencing their engine division not pianos. We have to agree to disagree as I sold to OEMs for 35 years and I know from experience exactly how OEM products are marketed for customers specific applications. Yamaha would like nothing better than for the 998 to become the 4s standard big...
What do you do for a living if you don’t mind me asking? A lot more goes into an OEM sale than your are considering. It does NOT just happen on boats or snowmobiles like screwing in a light bulb and throwing the on switch. Believe me Yamaha cares how their engine products are being applied...
Then Yamaha is remiss in marketing their engine products. With your thinking every boat builder regardless of brand requested Yamaha outboard engines ,Yamaha doesn’t market directly to their OEM companies yet every other engine OEM does? Believe it Yamaha does market directly to snowmobile...
I would be very surprised if Yamaha doesn’t have a sales team assigned to Polaris ,
I would be very surprised if Yamaha doesn’t have a sales team assigned to Textron,Polaris and BRP. That’s standard procedure for any OEM looking to grow and expand their business.
The last Apex orders were low. Sure diehard collectors will place orders for SWs but a lot depends on what happens to the Thundercat. AC could expand production with multi flavor Thundercats. AC likes to manufacture for AC customers could care less about manufacturing Yamaha units.
Could be multi flavor Thundercats that Yamaha fans can roll into. If not then Skidoo picks up the Yamaha transitional market as the only quality new 4s sled product line. Polaris 4s sleds are a joke. Lol
Yamaha could have but didn’t acquire AC as a whole and it’s understandable why they only wanted the snow division. Years later and the snowmobile market can’t help but wonder where Yamaha would have taken the AC snowmobile division? I wonder but impossible to know. So now I wonder when the...
Looks like AC did better with Textron new Catalyst platform and 2s lay down engines. Currently Yamaha is a small side business that seems to be happy with old technology. AC snowmobiles is in a good position Yamaha snowmobiles could be gone with a stroke of Textron pen and a very limited build.
Yamaha is done manufacturing sleds the partnership with Textron continues if Yamaha has a new engine for the the Catalyst. Otherwise no future with long in the tooth procross.
The future is new 4s engines for the Catalyst will it be a Yamaha 4s or a Textron 4s? Personally market wise less is more for me. I would be happy with a lightweight 140hp to
150 Hp 4s trail cruiser with push button power modes and smart shocks. I don’t need 180 -200 hp for trail riding and...
Since this thread started seeing lots more FXR on the trail. Buddies converted from Klim to FXR. Like FXR better. Both good but FXR gaining market share.
If there’s going to be a break it would happen when a new chassis is introduced. AC offers 1 model 9000 the TCat while all kinds of Yamaha SW variations. AC could easily produce those variations under the AC brand just rename them with color and new BNG. I would think Yamaha would be happy to...
