2012 FX Nytro MTX®162
A hardcore mountain rider’s mountain sled. No springs attached!
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI. – The FX Nytro MTX 162 is ready to take on anything you throw at it. It truly is bred for the mountains with its springless ProMountain Air rear suspension, amazing 18-degree approach angle, FXG2 wide-stance front suspension and Fox® FLOAT™ 2 air shocks on all four corners. The FX Nytro MTX 162 returns to the 2012 lineup with a few key updates including the new Ascent track, a new seat, single-piece extrovert drivers, MT-9 mountain skis, and new graphics.
New for this year is the Ascentâ„¢ mountain track, which was designed to get on plane quicker in powder and be durable enough to handle the high horsepower of a boosted sled. This was achieved by strengthening the bottom 2/3 of the lug for acceleration, while leaving the top 1/3 elastic to be able to curve and provide lift. The 15x162x2.25-inch track features a 3-inch pitch to allow more snow to pack in between the lugs for a firmer grip on the snow. In addition, the seat has been improved, offering better anti-sag properies in the foam and a more durable seat cover. New MT-9 skis drop 1.8lbs from the previous skis and offer better flotation, while single piece extrovert drivers, shed further weight and reduce track noise/vibration. Topping it all off, are the new graphics packages in black/red and blue/white.
The FX Nytro MTX 162 has no heavy steel suspension springs on its ProMountain Air rear suspension. The industry’s first springless sled also features a mountain-specific skid that was engineered in close collaboration with Fox. Engineering priorities targeted both powder performance and light weight. Heavy control rods were eliminated on this semi-coupled system and machined looking rails also eliminate mass. In addition, lightweight ice-scratchers eliminate four idler wheels and their mounting hardware.
The over-achieving, quick-revving, high-torque 3-cylinder Genesis® 4-stroke engine is the heart of the lightweight, high performance and aggressive FX Nytro model family. The advanced fuel injection keeps the 3-cylinder engine running at peak performance to pull you up the mountains or take you home when the day is done. This high performance engine and the long 162-inch track combine to make a sled that is capable of powering you over mountains and through anything you can throw at it.
