Can anyone tell me what this wire is for or what it should connect to?

Hi,

I have a 2006 apex rtx, found this loose wire after reassembling it from doing oil change and a-arm bushings... Don't remember pulling it off and not sure if maybe its an accessory wire left by previous owner???

Definitely aftermarket or some sort of add-on. Does it have Yamaheaters?

Yeah, it looks like an aftermarket wire. Maybe it was for a temp gauge or a fuel controller.

Did you trace the wire back?

Add on for something. The blue connectors it is hooked to are aftermarket to tap into a wire without cutting the wire. I would disconnect or tape up everything to avoid it grounding out if it is a power tap.

All taped up, everyone answer I've gotten is after market wire... Guessing last owner had something on it they took off. Thanks everyone for your help!
