- 2008 Nytro MTX 45th
For those of you that didn't know, Excell Motorsportsprovided TY with an FX Nytro header for the Muni Give-away ride last week-end. I was fortunate enough to obtain it from the winner (buddy of mine) for a case of beer (Labbatts Blue of course).
He couldn't really use it as he has an 04 RX1 so I scored pretty large.
I installed it this week in advance of my week long trip to the North Bay Ontario area Feb 13-20th. Here are some pics and notes.
Still all together:
Remove rear muffler cover
Remove side panels from muffler area
Remove Seat, then top plastic
Remove muffler hanger bolts (two holes one above the other in pic) and loosen clamp (hole on the left)
Remove two lower rear muffler bracket bolts
Wiggle, tug, tap and pull muffler off header
Cool shot of the clamp and gasket area of muffler (didn't know what to expect here)
Remove the muffler doghouse
Fuel level plug is green
Wire clip goes on right side fuel tank stud (front of sled to right in pic)
Tank removed
Removed Heat shield (4 bolts)
Air chisel 10 rivets to remove header hanger bracket, remove two hanger bolts
Remove clamps and then header.
Shiny goodness
The header hanger bracket goes over the MTX heat exchanger and wouldn't come out easily. It did however move enough to unhook the header from it and re-install the new header, as long as you held your tongue the right way.
