My cables broke, they are on back order. I want to ride. Which way do I tie the valve to keep it wide open with cables disconnected?

I did an experiment with the EXUP last year, and this pic shows the position of the exup flapper at about 9,000 rpm. (I had blocked off the exup chamber and set up the valve assy on a stand in order to run the sled with the servo/cables doing their job to see if the flapper actually obstructs the chamber at WOT or close to it) The flapper never travels more than this position with the servo/cables.
From idle where you check closed position with a pin in the slot, the wide open flapper position travels about 90 degrees from home. This position is where the valve in the chamber is fully open not obstructing the exhaust passage. So even though you can spin the valve anywhere you like with the cables removed, I would think you should shoot for holding it as close to the position as shown in the pic if you don't want to have any obstruction. FWIW, Cheers.

Nurse, got your PM about 5minutes ago. I'm snowmobiling in an area with poor cell service. I wired the valve in the exact position as apexallday's picture.

I'll be home Sunday and will be tearing in to mine Monday evening. Been low on rpms all weekend and suspect my wire up job has failed. I'll try and post pictures then.
