Played around on the river at home for the first 100 miles, just returned from Greenland, Michigan from trail riding and all I can say is IMPRESSIVE!

These are my settings so far.....100% stock

I have 68psi (front end hanging in the air when checking) in the front floats, limiter strap in front 2nd from top, shock on rear suspension with 11 threads showing and rear float at 125psi (rear end in the air when checking)

Trails groomed with 1 inch of snow the stock skis seemed to push yet, so I thought about sucking down the limiter straps 1 hole.....what a huge difference!

After riding and playing in the deep stuff, we found a section of drifts so I wanted to see how landings were going to be. I am 205 without gear. All the drifts I could not bottom the Viper out so I took and softened up the center shock a little. The transfer was cool if you want the skis up the whole time at 100psi, but at 125psi the Viper transfers and keeps the skis about 3 inches above the softer snow.

Yesterday, cold temps and hardpack groomed trails. My son on my Nytro and myself on the Viper. Incredible transfer (about 5 inches) and amazing cornering after my adjustments...VERY HAPPY! We also played on the trail going up some hills and it takes a little effort, but standing on the rear, the Viper will ride wheelies on command (My poor snow flap ;)

 :-o

Nice the rear skid setup is exactly what I have in mine except I was under mine last weekend and there is no holes in my limiter straps. I have Evol rc 2 front shocks so set up is a lot diff.

I am putting holes in the limiter strap to pull it up 1" tonight. With the turbo she is in the air as long as I am on the throttle.

No holes? My VIN ends with 0344, why does mine have them and yours don't? weird......

:)

Mine is 1694 I don't know why either but I got in there several times to adjust the front skid shock and no holes.

Yamadog,
The holes are up top. See pic.

Thanks for the review nos-pro, thinking of pulling the trigger on a XTX but I ride trail 90% of the time. The LTX is probably better suited for me but I like longer tracks in general and my riding on the edge days are over but still like to stay w/ the pack when I can. You have me thinking I'd like the XTX . . . .

Nospro / Terry great to see your post
Glad you like your viper. I can't imagine you riding a sled that pushes. The Nytro I used to follow would leave rail road track like ruts with those CA skis if I remember right. LOL

Hope all is well. Yamadoo. Aka Mark

Mine has holes on both side of the belt, so be sure to check, in the front side the distance between the holes is wider than those in the back like in the picture below. So for maximum transfer, put the bolt in the top front hole and in the lower rear.

Saw some of your Facebook pics. Man that looked FUN! Cant wait to head up for some real big snow. You going to Muni this weekend Terry?

I was really wondering myself on which Viper to get. I ride trail just as much as you do and I want a sled that will rail like an SRX but will also go in the deep and perform like a mountain sled. Really thought hard about it and said "screw it! The XTX it is!" The best decision I made :) (Remember, I like to do a lot of jumping and an occasional off-trail in deep stuff....so the LTX might be the better choice for you)

This last weekend proved the sled will rail once setup correctly and it doesn't feel like a 141 at all.

;)!

Hey Mark, good to hear from ya bud!

You know me too well and I don't like a sled that pushes. LMAO! I remember everyone telling me to lead so their skis would follow my tracks :) Those C&A Razors are the best I have put on a sled. Still looking for some C&A Razors, but I figured I would adjust the sled to make the stock skis work for now.

:sled1: :rocks:

I didn't plan on it, but if I can get away, I just might! Won't be able to get there before Saturday early morning, but give me a call!
