Background: I managed to snap up a used PCV on fleabay today. It comes loaded w/ 2 Ulmer maps on it already from a sled w/ an intake and pipe. My sled has the MPI trail turbo kit at present but I'm guessing I will end up with the MPI can and a header before too long.

I'm hoping someone with autotune/MPI experience can help me out.

My understanding is that the map loaded from Ulmer has "target" AFR's and the input from the autotune and wideband O2 will trim the PCV map up or down to reach that target. Presently, the PCV comes with Ulmer's "performance" and "economy" maps tailored for the intake and can. Would you replace these maps or start with them and let the autotune do its work? Any advice as I let the autotune learn i.e. take it easy for a few miles, 10 miles, 100 miles?

Thanks all.

Is it a PTI unit? From what I understand you need a Power Commander PTI (which is built for boost applications) to work with your turbo. Maybe Allen Ulmer or Dave from Hurricane can chime in. Not sure it will work for you?

I thought the MAP sensor could be added on but based on the current gem's box, I didn't realize it was a must. Show's what I get for not doing my homework.

Anyone out there with a non-pti PCV on a MPI kit? All input gets a digital high five. Thanks all.

It will still work but nowhere near as safe as the PTI for a Turbo. I would talk to Ulmer and see if something can be done to convert your current PCV to MAP based. Never know.

Wow great article. You could get Rocks power source which has USB outputs on it for 5v source. Its also possible that using the mini usb on the PCV itself that is also 5V I believe it would be. Looks like you are in business! You will be glad with Turbo you are going MAP based.

Isn't google incredible? No matter how clever you think you are, someone else has written an at length forum post about it.

It looks like the MAP, pigtail, and boost line appurtenances are about $30 on amazon.

I'll try and add some info on the process in case anyone else makes the same mistake (is it still a mistake if I save some bucks?) or for those folks that add a turbo to a PCV'd sled. Thanks Cannondale and Dranttel.

Happy to hear you can make it work!
