On the RX-1 (and any of the 4-strokes), is the headlight supplied power from the battery, or the generator? Specifically I'm looking to find out if the headlights maintain a constant voltage regardless of the engine speed, and what that voltage is.

Its all tied together, so both. ~14 volts.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was like a car, where everything is tied into the battery.
The reason I ask is that I have a set of Catz Hi-Lo HIDs (4300K) and wanted to make sure they would work in an RX-1. I'm planning on buying one next year and would have sold off the HID's if they wouldn't work.

Make sure that they don't suck more power than the charging system can put out, otherwise you may find yourself unable to start the motor after going for a ride.

That shouldn't be an issue. True HID's use about 35W compared to 55W/65W of a halogen bulb. It actually puts less stress on the electrical system.
