My sons ZR 7000 keeps on shutting down. It's like someone shuts the key off. full out and then shut down, at any speed. We turn the key off and turn it back on and it starts every time. I've changed the fuel relay just to try something but still shuts down. Took it to Cat dealer but because it doesn't throw a code they cant figure it out. Any one have any solutions?? Thanks

Do you have a tether?

It happened to me once last year near the end of the season. Went for a rip up the lake got to the end stop and the engine shut down I thought wtf turn key it fired up ???

Just out of curiosity did you have the hood off lately if so check that connection plug!

I've disconnected the main harness and reconnected. Tried almost everything I could think of so far.

This might sound odd but I have seen where the rider bumps the kill switch just enough to kill the sled but not switch all the way off. I bought the kill switch and handlebar warmer switch guards to not have this happen.

Our semi tractors shut off when the antifreeze levels get low. Will restart but shut down again. Just a thought.

I have tried it numerous times, never got close to the kill switch and the dash stays lit up. really has us baffled. Can't go for a ride now that we have snow because this dam thing keeps shutting down.

Have you checked the TORs system (assuming these have one)?

I have checked the throttle slop and tors and all is good. It started when the sled went into neutral in the chain, probably over reved it. But rev limiter would have kept it from really going too high. But this is when it started to quit.

If dash stays lit even when it shuts off its not kill switch. Check wires coming out of stator. Pickup coil wires or pickup coil itself. Looking at mine right now. I only see the 3 white wires from from stator coming out. Should be more from Pickup? Odd.

Maybe try going in and out of reverse 3 times. Could be some type of safety in there. I know there is a Proximity switch. Maybe lost position.
