While going through some parts diagrams, I noticed the new Nytro and VK sleds have a plastic cap that slides on the speedo side of the track driveshaft and snaps over the the locking collar on the bearing. The only thing I can think of it is a deflector/protector of some sort to help keep snow and ice away from the bearing seal and that = a longer lasting bearing. Any thoughts? If that is the purpose it might be a nice $6 - $7 additon while replacing that bearing on all sleds...

Part # 8FN-47377-00-00

I'll get a pic up in a short while.

Looks to me like it has holes in it..

I wouldnt want it.. Ice and snow will get stuck in there and eventually get in the bearing or destroy the seal..

I have over 7000 miles on my OEM bearing.. Took it out once and repacked it..
