I need a list to take to the dealer so I know all the updates and recalls have been done!

I just don't want the dealer to tell me yes they have been done!! how will I know for sure???? I want to be preparred!!!

what else should I watch for on my phazer???

Along with what you'll find in the thread above, there are three updates that Yamaha will pay the dealer to perform on all units. You can determine if these have been done by looking for punch marks near the VIN on the tunnel of your sled, there should be three.

Any other issues, such as the reverse fix mentioned in another thread, are handled on a case by case basis as they occur.

updates

Ok guys here goes , finaly found a dealer that would help me with the factory updates , the dealer took my VIN punched it into the computer and it showed everything about my sled , it showed no updates as being done and that there were 5 things needing to be done . Heres the list of things they definately will do for me , Hard start , Steering isue , ECU reprogram (should be part of the HARD START isue) , High altitude kit (our elevation does not cover this though , and another ECU reprogram . They could not find anything about the suspension arm or replacing it with a Billet one nor could they find an update on the overheating isue (fan update ) , what they did tell me was everthing that is a true update they would fix for me and he would find out about the isues that werent , so I gues il ride it till it burns up and then il hire a lawyer and show him all the problems that every one has had with the other isues and wel see what they say then . I have seen and heard so many horor stories about the Phazers , it kinda makes me wish I hadnt sold my SRX,s , im not sure I wanna ride this thing at all with these isues , wishing I hadnt bought this machine period at this point .

U will never burn up the phazer due to over heating it as a fail safe that shuts the motor down when the temp gets close to critical also the knock sensor system will change the time so that detonation will not happen when the motor starts getting hot.

Sounds like you found the right dealer. ;)!

Most of the horror stories are just that as I own two of the little beasties and after reading all this stuff on the net I was wondering if it was even safe to turn the key on either one. The reality is that there are more people NOT having all of these issues than what we're gathering from the stories.

If we read 100 stories about good things it might give us warm and fuzzies but we're not really required to take action or do anything different. We read 1 story about a failure and immediately the mind jumps to consider what kind of action is required, will I be stranded, oh golly, oh gee, oh my, why do I even have snowmobiles in the first place?

Well OK, maybe that only happens to me but I think folks understand the point. For what it's worth, my two Phazers have been great.

Just ride it and have some fun.

mentioning lawyers and yamaha in the same sentence? theyre watchin you ya know, all i can say is be in good shape so when you walk out of the woods you wont be winded lol, im ridin the ditches from now on, im too old to walk lol.

everytime i have a problem my lame dealer says thats the first we heard of this, i gots piles of info too bad itll be up to my wife to collect, when your steering goes where and how fast will you be goin, i already know lol

:drink: SRXtripman all I can say is I also came off a SRX(still have it).I guarantee once you get out and ride you will be having so much more fun that all these issues will be completely forgotten.....till they actually happen.
Like sledder steve said there are some who nothing happens to and Yamaha has been making production changes all along. You never know and thats why Yamaha didnt make all the issues recalls.Just service bulletins.Your dealer has a book about 3in thick with all kinds of "suggestions" from Yamaha.Ask to sit and read it.Just be prepared to be scared of ever getting near a snowmobile since it could be ticking. Also realize that every auto and truck has many many more entries into books like that but we still drive. What I am saying is do your best to be proactive but dont kill yourself worrying. We bought these things to ride.

Phazer

Guys and Gals thanks for the info , I am going to just ride the little beast ,if it brakes it brakes , the dealer that is performing al the updates is absolutly the best . They didnt even hesitate they took my VIN and said this is what updates should be done . Im thinkin that il buy the next one there . I will say the guys I ride with all ride cats f6 , f7 and the new 4 stroker , I had another friend call me that lost his job and needed some cash fast , so I bought his f6 for a song , this is gonna be my back up sled until I decide what my backup sled is going to be .

get the warranty for sure lol but if it wasnt for being a guinea pig. the sleds a blast to ride, just no fun to push.
