Must be getting old (or just wanting to give up looks for warmth).

Can you guys with taller then stock windshields post a few pics please?

Or, where cn I view pics of tall shields on Apexs?

Thanks guys.

Here's a photo that may help you. I believe the middle one would have been a stock shield. The one in the back is the tall one which has the aluminum strut bars to support it.

I have an extra tall one for sale. I bought a new 2011 and it will not fit.
The extra tall I got will fit a 2006-2010 apex/attak. Message me or text me if interested 765-719-1757 text me for pictures

I have a 2012 Apex with the stock shield on it now...I want two sizes up (extra tall?).

Sounds like I need suports?

Anyone brave enough to take a pic with one of these 5' high windshields on their sled? ;-)

Here are a couple pictures of my Apex with the Yamaha Mid height screen 14 1/2" I recall, and of my Attack with the Yamaha Tall windscreen, 16 3/4" from memory, that requires the added support bars. Both sleds have Lake Effect 2" risers. I did my best take the pics from the same height so you can get an idea on wind protection for your hands. Im 6' 4' and with the mid screen the wind hits my shoulders , neck and above. With the tall screen I dont get any wind on my upper body but do get some on my helmet. The tall ones arent as aesthetically pleasing but are very effective at keeping the wind of you and make a big difference in keeping you warm. I remember ridding whilst it was snowing last year when my Apex had the factory height screen and I was forever wipping the snow of my helmet visor. I changed over to the Attack and I hardly got any flakes on my visor.

My 07 Attak came with the lower windshield then they used after years. Even though the brouchure stated it was a Medium. Thanks to guys here that gave the info I realized the OEM Accessories Medium was taller.
I'm 64 yrs. old 6ft. 2inches and find this windshield better then the stock one and good enough without going to a tall one with supports.

The newer Apexes, 2011 and up, need a different shield. I put on the Touring windshield this year. This is the tallest Yamaha currently offers. Here are some pics from yesterday.

Grimm,

Can I ask, do you look "over" that, or "through" it?

Also, how tall are you (if I can ask)?

That looks like the one I want! :-)

It's still too low to look through. If I would guess, it probably comes up to chin level. I'll see if I can post a pic of me on the sled. I'm 6' 2".

That should be perfect. I dont wanna look through it, but JUST over the top.

Does it require supports?

Thanks much.

Support brackets do come with the shield. The downfall is that you can't use the Yammy windshield bag...I'm looking for an alternative bag to use.
