Some pics from the scenes where I do most of my sledding in Finland.
This last pic is from 2009 spring, I tried to pull some stunts in the backyard and this was the outcome
These pics are taken in southern Finland where we don´t usually have very much snow. Usual amount of snow is about 1 feet max.

Nice pics. Looks like you had more snow than we did.
BTW, why do you have the word "Perkele" in your location? Feeling a bit "devilish"?

Yeah, we Finns are a little bit devilish, or should I say untamed, at least here in Pohjanmaa
"perkele!" is a Finnish state of mind used in situations such as in my last pic..
This winter has been pretty good, we have over 3 feet of snow and it still keeps on falling from the sky.

My mother in law is Finnish so I knew a bit what it meant. Yesterday, Google translation gave "devil" as translation. Today it's "damn". I tried to find the phrase she uses, which sounds like "perkele nut". Google translation gave something entirely different on that one, which I can't copy here!
Still, those are really nice pics. Hope you can still enjoy that snow because my season is over.

I was riding by myself today, rode about 230 kilometres/143 miles in various places. None on the trails, though. I took only few pics cos the weather was awful, it was snowing almost all day long
These were my choice of rides today:

It´s been very hot and damp summer so far in Finland. So I reminisce last winter as I´m waiting for the next one to arrive.
That´s about 3,61 ft of snow.
Going to Finnish airforce´s bombing practice zone.. Don´t ask why. One reason is that you can make nice jumps from that snow bank and land on a fresh snow without breaking that aircraft carrier known as Apex.
Most of the local trails are not maintained at all. And nobody else driving them but me
And finally: This place almost put an end to my season. This is a high speed place and what a wonderful surprise it was to detect those one inch thick steel wires hanging about three inches from the ground. I got quite angry and phoned the electric company immediately. They came and removed the wires next day. The stop sign is irrelevant in this place, because the road that was in here exists no more.
All photos taken with my phone, Samsung i8510. Someone buy me a real camera!

Nice pics, even for a camera phone. Thankfully you didn't get caught by those wires. BTW, my family is presently in Finland visiting family. They were in Helsinki and are now in Hanko at a cousin's cottage. I couldn't go due to work :-(

Damn, this would´ve been a good summer to visit Finland. It´s been about 95 fahrenheit all time long. Well, to be honest I have to say I´m wishing for colder weathers, 0 fahrenheit suits me fine
Maybe someday you´ll visit Finland too and then we´ll hook up and party hard
I go to Helsinki almost weekly due to work and that´s my other home town as I lived there almost 12 years.

My nick comes from my real name, which is Mauri and Benelli comes from the fact I am a huge fan of Benelli motorbikes. My co-worker started to call me Maurizio Benelli
You got Joulupukki´s name almost right, the only mistake was the second "o" letter, which should´ve been "u". But we got the idea and don´t worry about the Finnish language, it´s almost too hard even for the natives
Temperatures are dropping below zero celsius at nights (32 fahr) so I´m ready for the new winter. Winter, WolfOne and others, welcome back to Finland!

Some nice scenery, don´t you think? Damn cold, though. Right now it´s -26 fahrenheit.
Apex vs. the huskies
My sled needs to be extended, I think it looks stupid in 121"
