How do you proceed when the time come to remove the flex pipes?

Just unbolt them from the block. And finagle them out. Make sure to inspect them as cracks can develop between the bends.

Ah cr@p. Never mind. Just saw this in the ad:
"Since aug 26 , the sets are sold out ( sorry ) but still send us an email if you are interested . The donuts are made one by one . the Ad will be removed soon . "

Hopefully somebody will pick up on these and mass produce them.

OK, that what i tried but even when compressing them to the death, it is like if the header is too close to the engine.

Thanks

take the muffler off, and take the header pipe off. If you can't get those allen bolts loose, just drill them and the heads will pop off. Then I replaced with some normal bolts.

I tried compressing them too...couldn't do it.

Will put the hands back on this tomorrow. I was thinking about doing that but one thing i found stupid is that Yamaha made the muffler bracket hold by 3 rivets on each side. Sounds like i will have to pop theses rivets out to remove the muffler.

I don't remember having to drill any rivets to get the muffler out. But it was almost a year ago, so I could have just forgotten.

No rivets need to be removed! There are several (3 if I recall) allen head screws under rubber grommets (pop off the grommets to expose them), then loosen the bolts. IF you're sled is like most, some of them will be very difficult to loosen. You'll need to heat them up cherry red and they'll loosen right up. Then the Y pipes will slide back far enough for you to remove the flex pipes.

Good luck.

I had to heat up the allen head bolts that hold the clamps on with some map gas and replaced the bolts when I installed them..thier a B*&%$ to get off there(or atleast mine were) After I loosend the muffler and the bolts under the seat I had plenty of room

As stated, you'll need to loosen the muffler and Y-Pipe. The muffler is bolted at the rear of the sled behind the taillight. there are a few allens that face rearward. Of course, one of mine wouldn't budge, so the two 12mm behind that bracket which go through the tunnel had to come out. As mentioned get some heat for the Y-Pipe bolts, if you don't you'll be stripping and drilling them out. A propane or MAPP torch will do.

Once you've got the system loose (you shouldn't have to remove anything), you should be able to wiggle the header pipes out.
