Is there any way to run a mpi supercharger the mtx version at low elevation ?

I now they make a low elevation kit. The thing is my buddy has a mtx version he will sell to me for 1500.00. If I could buy it for that price I could save a lot of cash.

you may have to change mapping...you could probably by the controller right thhrough MPI with the proper low elevation mapping...I would suggest giving them a call.

I did this with mine and saved a lot. Call ulmer if interested. The low elevation comes with extra cooling, different pullies and the gauges basically. You to use the mtx you will have to clutch different, change your pullies and make sure you have extra cooling. Which most guys have added to NA sleds anyway. Obviously a boost gauge, AF gauge, and maybe a water temp gauge will be needed if you want. Mpi added different timing to play with compression in the low elevation kit, and if I recall rpm settings, which you can do with your clutch. With the nytro you should only go up to 6lbs of boost on this S/C kit because the pump on the sled chokes unless you change it. But that 6lbs is on pump gas. Which IMO is bad #*$&@ for 200 hp or so. That price is a great price. I would do the deal and talk to Allen. He can set you in the right direction for an extra 50-60hp. Btw his clutching kit for this I hear is spot on. Btw mpi charges to remap if you didn't buy the correct kit, or buy it directly from them, so just follow ulmers lead and use that money for gauges and clutching instead. I ended up having Allen bump mine to a stage one finding a inter cooler from a dealer on snowest.

Thanks for the info . I already have a clutch kit from ulmer so I think even with the extras I have to buy I will still be well below 4 grand.

My wife has a mtx with a stage 1.The clutching wont be much different then a xtx long as you gear up a little. The mtx already has the extra cooler and do the thermostat mod and use ice scratchers which make a huge difference and you will have no issues.

Ice scratchers should not be needed if you have a rear heat exchanger. If you don't one or the other will be needed

Correct but why not have the added cooling plus his slides will create mote heat with the tall lug track.

True, but if I'm reading this correctly he is taking this off his buddies mtx and putting it on his rtx. Which would normally have a 1-1/4 track or maybe a 1-3/8 track. So there is no bigger lug to seal with like on a mountain sled, but any extra snow for the hyfax does help
