We put these on last fall and ran them all winter with no problems (2 sleds over 3,300 miles) :
http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo ... uare/1362/ (out of stock here now but there are lots of places to buy them--or see Superbrights and look for a little different style)
They don't look like much but---they're nearly as bright as our HID headlights! --750 Lumen each. We wired them direct to the battery with a switch on the handlebar. Made a HUGE difference for night riding, lights up every little bump in the trail. They're LED's so you can leave them on with the engine off when you're stopped on the trail. We left them on for an hour while at breakfast one morning and the sleds started with no problem.
Those of you that have HIDs know they are WAY brighter compared to stock or even silverstar type bulbs. Adding these driving lights doubles the light out front compared to having just the HID's.
I have to admit, when my son put these on his sled I thought they "looked cool" so I bought a pair. Now, I am wondering how I ever rode at night without them!
If you get them be sure and buy the 20 degree beam angle and aim them about 20 feet out front to the ground, otherwise you'll blind everyone coming at you.

Can you post a pic showing a close up on how and where you mounted them?

No problem, here they are. Had to drill a couple holes for the bolt and wire harness. Used a spade wood bit for the harness, it worked great. Bought a rubber gromet and glued a rubber washer to it for the hole with the wire (probably overkill but I like a finshed look). Mounted a lighted toggle switch with double sided tape (3M) to under the headlight switch (lights up when the lights are turned on).
If you're thinking they can't make that much difference... order them (20 degree beam) and hook them up to a 12v source after dark; I doubt you'll send them back.

Are you running these along with your regular head lights as well????
Looks pretty kool down there.

I am running HID headlights and the driving lights at the same time day & night-- twice the light at night & I like the way they look.

Nice job on the install! I may buy a set and do the same. I have the Sled Start HID kit but more is always better right? LOL!

He asked about the HID lights....not the new LEDs
Many, including myself have found the HID's from Kurt at SLEDSTART to be a great choice

Yes, I see that now. I have the Sled Start HID's from Kurt and I love them! I see that Rockmeister is also now selling an HID kit as well.
Once you have HID's you will wonder how you ever drove at night without them. When I am following someone they tell me that they are using my light rather than their own!

at 10 watts each they dont draw much...Id check with rock becasue even little wattage has been shown to damage the stator!
