TY 4 Stroke Junkie
Just spoke to an AC 7000 owner and he said cat called him about a reverse gear/ chain case recall. Anyone else heard this
I as well did hear this. I will be checking with my dealer in the morning.

When determining if your sled is affected by a recall or update only use the last 6 digits of the VIN
Bulletin No: BS201414
Subject:Actuator Extension
Affected Models:2014 7000 and9000 models
Condition: During the forward operation of the affected models,the reverse actuator may shift out of forward which may cause gear damage.
Solution:Install new Actuator Extension Update Kit (p/n 0637-461)

It's so typical.
TRF taking care of Cats first. It's my understanding the whole waiting period for our Vipers, parts, accessories, etc was because of the pecking order at TRF. True or not, it's frustrating.
1st: Cat USA
2nd: Cat Canada
3rd: Yamaha USA
4th: Yamaha Canada
I've never had mine jump out of gear........just lose all the oil.

It's not like that. The sled is made in TRF and all the engineering is also done at the plant. Yamaha is in eastern Wi. AC can send parts out to all ac dealers from the plant but they can't do the same for Yamaha. Yamaha has to do that. Parts are sent to yamaha in Wi for them to send to their dealers, so it takes a lil more time.

have no idea on the windshields but I would imagine its because of the manufacture that is contracted to make them. Some 7000 ones fit the viper right?

Was at the dealership today and they told me they are just waiting to hear out of yamaha with an official bulletin, but there is going to be a recall on the viper reverse gear.

Called my dealer, they say the kit will arrive in March. Not a big deal for me as ours has not had the out of gear thing yet.
