After sitting a long time it will be hard to start because the fuel pump has dried out, which means that there will be no suction to the gas tank.

The solution: force gas into the fuel pump.

How to do that:
Open the hood, remove the clutch cover. Locate the clear hose that is fitted onto the FRAME just behind the secondary clutch. Remove it from the frame, CLEAN IT, blow into it until you can't blow no more and hold your finger over it. Open choke full, leave throttle closed, and turn the key. Should start really easy.

Nice LB!!!

If your sled has sat for awhile with a discharged battery the plates may have sulfated and it wont take a charge. Also a discharged battery can freeze and in extreme cases crack.

The Optimate battery charger (available at your Yamaha dealer) can sometimes repair sulfated batteries. Also if you use it as an on demand battery charger hooked up over the summer months, battery problems can be completely avoided.
