This year I was extending out to a 144 and then saw Kachess's post in the mountain section. So I figured I would modify the exhaust system as well.
Major weight savings when you consider the muffler, heat shielding and stock tunnel extension.
Here's what my warrior looks like now......

edge,

Very nice work. That sled looks great. What muffler did you use and more importantly how is the noise level compared to stock?

Thanks,

4 Play

4-play - Thanks. The muffler is a flo-pro glasspack. (part #3012) Local muffler shop welded it up for me. Sound level - at idle is very close to stock, just slightly louder. On the throttle hard - throatier - but I doubt someone who wasn't used to these sleds would know the difference between this and stock. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I extended my 03 RX-1 shorty to a 136; I wish I would have pushed mine right to 144 like you did and used a Switchback or RMK rear skid.

I bet that thing will be fun in 12-16" of pow.

What kit did you purchase????
I have a 04 Warrior and looking at adding a 144' suspension
Your sled looks sweet!!!

Rail and tunnel extensions are Hartman. Extroverts from Hartman. Track is a camo crossover 1.5".
Pipe, drop brackets, seat support bracket and filler plate are custom fabbed.

Im worndering in the trails how much difference is there in handling carteristics and ride compaired to the 136 i know its like 8" bigger so its like 4" longer.???

JDMCRX - the skis are yamaha mountain skis. They really float the front well. Ran them last year.
Yes, 4" longer. Still carves really nicely though in deeper stuff. Trail manners are diminished somewhat. Not because of length, but from lowering the suspension....thus lifting CG. But, I was building it for off trail, so I'm not overly concerned.

LAZY - original muffler bracket (cast piece) is a major structural piece at the back of the tunnel. Yeah it's heavy, but I didn't feel like totally gutting the tunnel and having to re-build that portion of it. Plus I used the exhaust mount thread inserts to attach the seat bracket. Yamaha gave us plenty of extra aluminum when they designed that portion.

Edge, what size are your extroverts? 9 tooth or did you switch to 8 tooth?
I just bought a Crossover track and 9 tooth extroverts, hope there´s space enough between the track and tunnel.

erni thats the track i have, close but works just fine. no studs though. junkie

Ernie - I'm using the 9 tooth. There's lots of clearance between track and tunnel. (with the guards removed).
With an '04, you will have to trim the drivers. Otherwise they'll contact the crossbar of the front torque (W) arm. Don't ask me how I know!
