My kit showed up to day and it has six fuel adjusters, seems like alot to me all of them are set at 4 turns out and I measured the plastic nitrous nozzles at 20 hp each(also came with two 30hp brass nozzles),according to the chart I found.

My question is,can I install the four fuel jets that I have extra(which have no adjustment ,see picture)and just tune with the two main fuel jets?

I can see where it might be nice to be able to tune each cylinder seperate but it looks like the new boss kits only have 1 fuel adjuster for all four cylinders.

My therory is that with the first two adjusters set at 4 turns then the two cylinders that follow can only recieve half that amount, say two turns worth of fuel anyhow no matter where they are set.

Here is some usefull information for those that buy blank nozzles and wish to drill out their own holes for the horsepower needed.

10 Hp - 0.020 - #76 Drill Bit
15 Hp - 0.029 - #69 Drill Bit
20 Hp - 0.035 - #65 Drill Bit
25 Hp - 0.039 - #69 Drill Bit
30 Hp - 0.046 - #56 Drill Bit

hey steve, you got a older set-up in your boots now. the 4 extra in the pic will replace those, this is the new set-up there running. they do have 1 bigger fuel adjuster to go with the 4 inserts that you have. i havent tried to run it with the smaller adjusters. wonder why there is 2 adjusters on the main line? junkie

i would just call boss and get the 1 big adjuster, its cleaner. i had the 4 adjusters and it was kinda a pita to get it dialed in. with the one big adjuster, i know all cylinders a getting the same amount of fuel. dont get me wrong that set will work, but you could get rid of ALOT of that fuel line. see your regulating the fuel twice, and if you plan on a bigger shot later, that might be too constrictive. that bigger adjuster is a higher flow rate, and will make adjustments of fuel easy with only turning one adjuster for ALL cylinders. junkie

Thanks guys,I just finnished installing it.Im planning on adjusting it with the two main adjusters for now and calling boss to see about getting the updated single adjuster.

Its dumping fuel no problem now I just have to find some place in michigan to get bottles filled.(I have three)

For your information I called alpeana welding supply and can purchase a 50lb bottle, full for just under 400.00 then its 125.00 to get it refilled which works out to 2.50 lb.For right now id just like to get my bottles filled to see how much im actually going to use it.

How much you are going to use it.

Steve, I used my nitrous for the first time last Friday.

You wondered how much you are going to use it?

....well, I was out of N2O by noon and am trying to figure out how to strap that 50lb tank to my sled so I don't run out so soon...LOL :-o

:nos

steve is there a speed or hot rod shop up there? they should be able to hook you up with a couple fill up's. junkie

Stouter yes thats what im thinking will happen to me as well. ;)!

yamahajunkie there is speed shops but none close carry nitrous.I found michigan airgas who does fill nitrous tanks but only medical grade and they wouldnt sell it to me without a prescription :dunno: .I also found rosebush motor sports by bay city but they are out right now, they were out a month ago as well and havent gotten any more.Im going to call hackers in houghton lake and ask,I know alot of sleds run it over there.Matter of fact now that I think of it on the west side shore of houghton lake there was shop installing nitrous there,if they are still around they should have it.

Steve how is that new yamaha dealer in tawas doing .I was thinking of having him do some warranty work for me. woodtic

WOODTIC They are alot busyier now that they have moved to tawas they told me.They have a nice shop in the back as well and are getting more inventory in.

I know one of the guys that work there and he said they are going to get a dyno(for motorcycles) and a track dyno for sleds.

I got the bottles filled found a place in freeland 4.75lb he just gravity fed them like I was planning on doing. He got a little over 2.3 lbs in them(i weighed them empty before I left).

I touched it off in the yard only have 600 ft to run but it works,I can see im going to have to run the track tighter with the nitrous, now just waiting for snow.Heres some pics.
