Snowmobile: '05 RS Rage
Mods: Pioneer Performance roller bearing secondary, blue skid plate, Fox Float shocks.
Starting mileage for '06-'07 season: 750miles
Where I ride: I am originally from a small town in between Fargo and Grand Forks North Dakota, so I do quite abit of riding that area. My cousin and I also do some rideing up in the Walhalla ND area through the Pembina Gorge area. http://www.snowmobilend.org/resources/trails/ I also do some rideing in the Detroit Lakes Minnesota area as well, since I have family around there too.
Where I want to ride: Looking forward to my first TY ride in March at Muni! Would like to do some rideing up in the Duluth MN area as well as northern WI and the UP of MI. Really want to get out west and do some riding in the rockies too.
We finally got snow!!!
Finally on Saturday night 12/30/06 we got about 6" of snow at my parents farm north of Fargo ND. Weather reports and reports from people say that they got 12"+ up north of Grand Forks ND and in the Walhalla ND area.
Had the sled out on Sunday afternoon for awhile and put on about 60miles. About 20 miles by myslef and another 40 miles with my dad, who rides a 1999 Phazer 500.
We did some ditch banging and then headed out along the trail system west of our farm that follows the Goose River. Nothing was groomed yet but the snow was pretty nice.

Looks like fun. Hopefully it stays on the ground and I might have to make my way up that way next weekend. My brother lives in Vergas and they only got enough to cover the ground. Must have been a fine line to the storm.

Yeeeehaaaawww, I am finally going to get to ride my sled on some real snow. Heading out to the Big Horns in Wyoming tomorrow afternoon. Will be staying at the Passage Resort near Burgess Junction.
I will make sure to take lots of pictures and fill everyone in when I get back. (Just in time to head out the following weekend to Munising and ride with all of you!!)

Well after a 16.5 hr drive (half of which was in crappy conditions) I made it home to Minneapolis from the Big Horns in Wyoming.
I picked up one of my buddies on the way and we met three more people out there. We stayed at The Passage Resort http://www.thepassageresort.com/ near Burgess Junction Wyoming. We tried to stay at Bear Lodge but it was booked. http://www.bearlodgeresort.com/
We rolled in on Thursday the 23rd at about 6:00 got checked in and had a bite to eat at the lodge. We got up early Friday morning and two of the guys went over to Bear Lodge to get their rental sleds and the rest of us unloaded our sleds. Naturally I was so excited to go riding I forgot to take a picture of my starting mileage. If I remember right it was about 1025 miles.
Friday was pretty good riding, it was a little warm (35 deg F) but it was sunny for most of the day. We put on about 100 miles on Friday. Snow conditions were good but not too much powder since it was so warm out. Friday evening/night we got about 8-10" of fresh powder.
The new GPS came in handy on Friday late afternoon. We were up at around 9600 ft or so and the system started moving in. You could see clouds in the distance but didn't look too bad yet. We were off the trail about 2 miles or so and all of a sudden we were socked in by fog (in the clouds). Used the GPS to get back to the trail. Then we headed back down a little closer to the lodge.
Saturday we headed out about 8:00am, it was much better on Saturday. Fresh powder, sunny and a little cooler (high of about 27 deg F). We put on another 100 miles or so on Saturday as well. We found quite a few different areas to stop and play in the powder or do some hill climbing... it was a blast.
Overall it was a great trip and I had a blast. Not sure if I can get excited to ride in the flatland now.
