Well was hoping to install my new track and the new link at same time.No go.Not sure if it fits other models but it will not fit mine.Looked up some part numbers and 08 front arm is different along with the cross shaft other end of link goes to.So dont go buying one of these till you know. Also looked up the "Race" kit which supposedly has the link in it along with springs and a bunch of other stuff. This supposedly fits 07 and 08's.Not sure how this is possible unless arm and shaft are included.Bummed!

Anyone know how all these guys who got link last year fit it?

Interesting... looks like all '07 phazer models use the same part number for the link.

NOT TRUE!
My 07 mtn Lite is going to the shop next week to have the link installed. Dealer said it should take them no longer then 30 mins and finished!
I will let you know when I get it done if there is any secerts to making it fit.

Well according to the parts breakdown for both years, all models. The infamous "link" will require the arm pivot bracket (cross shaft pivot) also. They are different part numbers from 07's to 08's. No matter what model Phazer you own.

Thanx for the insight on this, atleast everyone will know this when they bring it in or buy the part.

I am wondering if there is two different Billet Links? One I got is for 08's maybe other one if it exists is narrower.Looking at the one I have it is impossible to make it work without the 08 arm and crossshaft.Part cannot be milled down far enough since needlebearing leaves just enough room for the seal.My dealer is just confused as I am.But I am out $175.

I had to change the front Arm, it came in a kit but I am not sure if they have something else out there.

It does come as a kit I believe there is 3 pieces total. I will let you know for sure next week when my sled has it installed.

Did your link break? Or is this an update under warranty? Any part numbers available?

Talked to my 5 Star dealer yesterday and he says YMCA is not doing anything unless the link breaks.

i broke mine and it got replaced with another steal one last year. ill tell u ill break it again tho no problem. i think im just going to get the race kit even tho it should have that part already... rolls eyes.

The dealer is doing it under warranty and all I have to pay is 30-60mins labor!
We worth it in the long run!! LaLaLa Ya :tg:

That is pretty much what my dealer said. They might be seeing me again, I have a 4 yr YES

Only Link in the race kit is the one at the rear that engages the coupler blocks. As far as I know nobody is breaking those. So here we are a year later and still no idea as far as part# what the billet link was some got last year.

Please try to get a part# for this.

The billet link some got last year is the same link you have - what the few people that got it last year failed to mention was that in order to install it you do need the front arm and some other pieces to go along with it. They may not have know this as the dealer most likely did the install with help and instruction from Yamaha's technical dept. From my experience being at dealer tech updates and seeing how many failures we have had at the shop with that piece I don't think people need to worry about it as much as some are as the failure rate currently is very low. Yes a few have broke but it is not like we see alot of them - if you have a failure be sure to get it in to a dealer and between the dealer and technical assistance I am sure they will get it resolved.
