Anxious to get started on the Mountain Performance Super Charger, me and my little Bro Jr, started to dismantle the sled and remove the parts that were necessary to make room for the blower. In this post I will detail quick over view with pictures of the install and show a final install document in the Totallyamaha.com Tech and Product review areas.

We started by reading the direction thoroughly. Then we removed and set on the side the hood, side panels and the left lower side panel. Remove the Air Box and nose cone. Disconnect the battery and remove. Removed Battery Cage, ECU and Voltage Regulator. Drain oil reservoir and remove oil tank. Remove right hand side lower and upper pod.

After we pretty much cleared the way, we removed the crank case cover, paying close attention to screw location as there are 3 different lengths cover screws. This is where we tore the gasket between the cover and the motor so I would defiantly recommend getting the new gasket, as you will NOT find this in the kit. At this point there are quite a few things that need to be done. Removing the crank bolt and adding the shaft, replacing the black plug in the cover with the new O-Rings and shaft guide.

Mark out the notch in the lower flange of the Delta Box side to allow the blower jack shaft and the front Delta Box Flange to allow the blower outlet pipe to come thru the front cone area. Install the lower blower mount to the area that the ECU was mounted. Unbolt the steering arm upper and lower connection point to allow you to set the blower in place and allow the jack shaft to pass through the delta box. Re bolt the steering back into place and temporary set the blower into the lower mount bracket and finger tighten. Place top bracket from delta box to blower fasten in place and finger tighten the main upper bolt. Bolt the jack shaft spacer and belt adjuster bracket to the delta box. Now we tightened the blower into place and add the pulleys and belts. FYI stock 240hp kit the 26 tooth is on the bottom crank and the 22 tooth is on top. You will need to run 50/50 gas/race gas mix. If you want to run pump gas you will need new taper locks and then you can switch the pulleys 22 on the jack shaft and 26 on the blower to give you 200 HP on pump gas.

Modified the ECU bracket and installed. Removed the oil tank elbow and dip stick and installed onto new tank. Modified supplied parking brake relocation kit and reinstalled parking brake. Remounted the new MPI oil tank . At this point you want to make sure the oil tank does not rub on any pulleys. We re routed some wiring and remounted the starter relay, battery leads to reach the new battery location and not to interfere with the blower. Mounted the intake filter on the blower. Remounted the ECU and voltage regulator in the nose cone area along with the blower oil cooler, oil filter and blower oil reservoir. Getting all the wiring and the oil lines in place was quite job. Everything must be routed not to rub on anything. We used small piece of hose zip tide over the wires and hoses at any rub points.

Pulled the gauge pod bracket off the delta box and removed the fuel rail and injectors to install zip ties on all vacuum lines and replace the vacuum plug on each throttle body. Then reinstalled the injectors and fuel rails.
Next we installed the new battery box and new battery and finished the wiring.
Removed the air fitting in the inter cooler to make it easier to add the boost pickup tube from the fuel controller. Installed the inter cooler and added the gauge pod bracket and pod back onto the delta box.

It was finally time to refill the engine oil tank and the blower oil tank. Fired the sled and set the fuel controller… I would like to say it purrrred like a kitten but it roared like a lion…. LOL
As I stated in the begging of the post, I will have a complete install write that will be added to the Tech and Product review section.
A big thanks goes out to my 2 brothers for the help on the charger install and all the help from Allen Ulmer for the after hours tech questions. Also once again, thank you Mountain Performance for the excellent product. The workmanship on their product is impeccable.
Final parts to be installed would be the Boost Gauge, Water Temp and Wide Band Fuel Gauge and pod…. and we are ready for Hay Days!!!
