The Rev's like to eat belts, the motor moves a lot I find regardless of clutch alignment.
Sleding Weekend Number 22!
This puts us at April 3rd to 5th, 2009.
My friend Chantal is new to snowmobiling, so I offered to bring her out to the tent and teach her how to ride a snowmobile. Her ride for the weekend was the Phazer Mountain Lite/MTX. Not an easy sled to learn on, touchy throttle and tippy, but once you get used to it, it’s all good.
We hit camp and did some riding on the Saturday, and learning in the process…
And of coarse, we did some ice fishing for dinner, and she did a great job!
On weekend number 21 the powder was amazing, but for a week solid we had melting and above freezing temperatures, so it was time to enjoy the powder one last time, so that’s exactly what I did (see video).
Everything was going great, until this…
Chantal had her very first snowmobile crash…
See video….

Cheers,

and... And... AND....???? The suspence is killing me! Where is weekend 22, part two???
As an announcer would have said;
"Did Chantal survive the weekend at the tent? How much damage was there on the sleds? Did Allan laugh his a** off? Will Greg ever ride the Arctic Cat again? How many bleeps can one person get in one episode? The answers will be revealed as the saga continues; YELLOWKNIFE - THE LAST FRONTIER!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL
We need a new video-clip to survive the stupid summer... Bring on the winter again! |

Sleding Weekend Number 22 Continued!
Video Link Part Two also includes Weekend Number 23.
After Chantal’s accident, and dropping her off in town on the last day of our trip, I had a free afternoon and headed out to Jennyjohn to be creeped out by a dead fish…see video…
Weekend number 23 put us at April 9 thru 12th, the long weekend for Easter! Janice and I headed out to the tent yet again with the weekends winding down and snow disappearing fast. More exploring to be had around the Thompson Mine Site…
And then there’s this….see video…
We also had some visitors with the nice weather, the kids had a blast!

Things will be picking up shortly in the last few video's...unfortunately escaping the season without more things breaking wasn't an option... _________________ 02 Gade 14109K 8818M

Sleding Weekend Number 24!
This takes us to April 15th thru April 19th. It is what would be our last series of overnight's at the tent. Greg took a couple days off to stay there before the weekend started, so I decided to commute to and from work each day to join him leading up to the weekend.
In YK fashion, things started falling apart...nothing but video's to share from this weekend, and so we being with:

After I wrap up this mileage log, i'm not sure what's next. I think if I do a summer one I will have to condense it a little more to focus on the good stuff. Summer is a lot less dramatic here for break downs, that's not to say I don't have video of my truck in compromising positions, but I have to keep it entertaining in whatever I end up producing. I also have some pretty sweet video's from the past 8 years here, some of which would be worth dragging out and editing - like my own episode of Ice Road Truckers, among other stories i've only written about in the past that are all on video. The time it takes to edit these things is the catch! That leaves me wondering what will be of the 2009 - 2010 Mileage Log this coming winter since I will be in Ontario for 6 weeks. Whether I can edit down there on a borrowed computer, or whether next years log will be Video focused without photo's to save time creating the stories on here. I could turn it into strictly an episode by episode basis and provide links without any background, treating it like a reality tv show. This log has taken an unbelievable amount of hours to maintain, and in the end that meant a lot less riding on weekday morning's and evening's, but, its has been worth it given the fact I got out every weekend but 1 (to edit the revy video's) _________________ 02 Gade 14109K 8818M

I think you should do what makes YOU happy! In the end, it's all up to you. Maybe you can compress a few weekends together as highlights f.ex. if that will ease the amount of work? I guess it's the price you pay for being a TY-celebrity...
If it ain't fun for you, it will just feel like too much work. No need to feel pressure to do a report (allthough I've been hasseling for one or two). We are just glad to get to know you and your riding-buddies, at least that's how I look at it. I really like the humorous and positive way you look at everything!
It's been a blast to read and watch all your adventures this year...
I can only imagine how much work it goes into making all these episodes... |

Thanks - it started out as a way for me to share my adventures with my family in Ontario, and grew from there to a bit of an audience, and I have to admit, when I look back at stuff sometimes I can't believe how insane it is and how much goes wrong, it doesn't seem realistic, like we plan it all and do it on purpose.
I do enjoy doing it, no doubt. Time management is about the only catch. More on the way! _________________ 02 Gade 14109K 8818M
