SEASON IS OPEN!!

First 1,5 kmÂ´s done LOL

Trails not really open yet. Rode my sled with the kids in the fields and yard. But it is start. Snow came 3 weeks eralier this year than last year.

I did 25 kmÂ´s today. Just went to fuel my sled at the local gas station. Then rode with my kids on the near by trails.

Great fun.

The county seems to be working on the trailsystem here. Heavy equipment on the trails and they are working to make our trails less bumpy. Good thing. Sadly, all the gravel and sand on the trail are blocking my way to the trailsystem from where I live. Bummer.

mileage : 25 km
total mileage : 26,5 km LOL

I think they changed them when I got new rails in the warranty service....

Old ones were cracked...

I live in SodankylÃ¤. That is a small town about 130 kmÂ´s north from the arctic circle / Rovaniemi. I work as an silviculture supervisor at MetsÃ¤hallitus forestry. I do lots of fieldwork outside the office. Forestry is nice in that way. I get to ride ATVÂ´s and snowmobiles at too. I also have a old Toyota Landcruiser as a workride.

I havenÂ´t been riding in a long time now. We have decent snow, even we had some rain last week.

Also we are expecting our 3rd child soon. Actually the time what the doctors gave us was last friday, the 13th. So, no long rides for me since the nearest hospital where we can go when the time comes is over 130 kmÂ´s away...

Anyway, I did get out with my two sons today and we cruised the nearby trails. Did manage to gather whopping 33 kmÂ´s today for my log. Better than nothing still!

this is a reindeerfence overcrossing. They build theese to allow the sleds go over the fences here. Reindeers can not go over since there are gaps on the "bridge". Reindeers legs can not get good grip and so they are afraid to climb them and go across.

Good luck with the new baby when time comes.

BTW - when our youngest child arrived we didn't have the time to wait for the Ambulance, we drove for 150 kms or 95 miles to the nearest hospital, out girl came 3 hours after we arrived at the hospital. Nice memories.

Going riding is nice. Waiting for the new baby, takes toll on my nerves LOL

We actually live next door of the SodankylÃ¤ hospital, but we still have to go to Rovaniemi (that 130 km ride) when the time comes.

I understand... same way here, a nice hospital in town but still have to go to Hammerfest to have a baby :-( Not too cool in winter in blizzards and hurricane force winds crossing the mountain plains of Finnmarksvidda at Stuorra Hatteras, scary enough to drive at those conditions, bringing your pregnant girlfriend/wife sure takes a toll on a guy.
