Well started tuning with rb3 today. 13.5 a/f at a idle, 4000rpm 14-16 a/f. 6000 12.8 all the way through to 11000 rpm. Talked with Dave and he walked me through the rb3 program. Added some fuel to the top end, and in the mid range. Took it for another test ride. A little better but still lean in the mid to the top. Idle 13.5 4000 rpm 13.5-15 a/f 6000rpm 12.3-12.8 all the way up to 9800-10000 rpm. Hit 10500 & 13.5 a/f. I added some more fuel to midrange and top end. Havn't been able to test yet.

She has been missing from high idle through to about 8000 rpm, think maybe it is a lean miss.

Oh bye the way this is on a apex with head shim, running 91 octane. Vortex blowoff valve, and a brand new tunnel dump exhaust from excell.

One more thing when I was testing today it was -15 celius at 2400 feet above sea level.

Can't wait till next weakend to do more testing, and working with Dave. He is the best. :jump: :-o :yam: :4STroke: :die

What map did you start with was it the stg 1 that they have on here?

Not, sure Dave had a map for stage one, at Hurricane Performance. Don't know if it is the same map that's on here.

This is exactly what I am running on my sled except for the tunnel dump. My tuner didn't have a hell of a lot of time to tweak it and it's not running spot on by any means. Actually it's running very rough. I would love to hear some good news on your sled or if you had what map you're running available. I'm tuning right now for 1800 ft. Good luck.

did you ever get your stage 2 running right with the rb3?, what maping did you end up using?, i need to purchase the rb3, the stock programmer is crap. thanks

No I'm not finished tunning yet. Only able to work on it one day a week. So this sunday I will be working more on it, to dial it in. Probably going to take 4 or 5 days I would think. To far to drive to a dyno shop. So doing it old school. Make one adjustment, go test then make another and so on. But once I'm done I will post the map I end up with.

That would be great! I'm going to be getting the Pro Lite software and start working on my tuning. I'm in the same boat, I live 3 hours away from the nearest capable dealer.

keep me posted as how you like the box, throttle response and if it cleans up the mid range. i want to do either rapid bike, microsquirt or power commander. all have perks and down sides

3 hours away thats not to bad. I think I would consider it. Me it's like a 12 hour drive to Sicamous B.C. to powderlites dyno. But doing it old school is all right though.

So far I like the throtttle response, and for the midrange I'm sure it will clean up to. The rb3 software program seems pretty easy to use so far. You can fine tune any rpm range you like. But for sure I'll post more sunday night once I'm done tunning for the day.

Sounds good, curious to see how you make out. For now I'm still blown away at the instant power this thing is making at only 11-12 lbs. First ride of the year and I am sore from holding onto this beast. And so far gas mileage is much better than expected. Can't wait to get it smooth throughout the rpms, she will be perfect after that

Oh things aren't going well. Did some more testing today, got a real bad miss in her at wot. Everything seems to run fine from 1/8 throttle all the way to 3/4 throttle. a/f readings are good got them dialed into 12.1-12.3. But when you punch it from 3/4 to wide open starts missing backfiring, rpm drops off. Let off throttle back to 3/4 everything is good again. :o| :o| :o| :o| :o|

Checked plugs look good, did a resistance test on plugs they seem to be good 3.80. Checked resistance on coils there good. :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o|

Had a T.O.R.S code on the gauge, going to disconnect and try again tomorrow.

Don,t think its a lean miss, but never know. A/F was 10.8 at 9000 rpm's when I punch it, so shouldn't be lean miss right of way I would think.
After testing T.O.R.S tomorrow going to through a #*$&@ load of fue at it from 9500 and up. :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o|

try taking fuel away from it at the top end, possible way to rich and starting to miss. i have been fighting that same problem in mid range with the stock crap programmer

No I'm not bouncing off the rev limiter. Unless thats been changed some how? But good point I'll have to double check that for sure.

Cleared all codes the other day, the T.O.R.S code didn't come back. So don't think thats it.

I started pulling fuel away from it today, still missing though. Kinda scared to pull to much fuel away from it though.

Think I will hook up the Gems controller tomorrow. Just to elimanate the rb3. Should be able to detirmine if it is ignition or rb3. It never missed with the Gems, just couldn't dial it in good enough. :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| :o|
