Surprised no one has posted this yet... Congrats on the achievement and doing it for a great cause. Apparently this was done on a 2011 Apex. Hard to tell from the pics but looks like it to me.
Story: Matt Weidenger has broken a world record today on Lake of Bays. The world record for furthest distance travelled on a snowmobile in 24 hours was held by an American. Weidenger set out yesterday from Norway Point to bring the record back to Canada. He maintained a speed of about 120km/hr, only stopping to refuel. Although it's unofficial, Weideger's team says when Matt crossed the finish line today at 3:00pm, he had beaten the previous record of 2,262km by more than 300km. Thanks to Dan McCormack for passing along the photos!

For those south of the border and used to standard measure:
Distance: 2,901.5km = 1,802.9 miles
Average speed: 121km/h = 75 mph
Impressive! I would like to see a 2-smoke or other 4-stroke engine run for 24 hours at 75+ mph only stopping for fuel. The 2-smoke would probably go through 1-1/2 gallons of oil too...

He was stationary for close to 2 hours as well so the average is more like 83-84 MPH!

I could do that with my phazer.............. If I wrapped duct tape around the throttle and had in flight refueling. Awesome record.

not to be such a downer but their is a guiness record held in madge lake sask for most miles ridden in 24 hrs. 2041 miles to be exact. But the brightside is it took two of them to do it and two sleds. Two arctic cats.
