I recently bought a scrap rx-1 and it had one set of those medium sized black wheels on it up front. The ones with the two plastic pieces that need to be popped out to get to the bearing. I am wondering if added this extra set to the very center of my rails would be a good idea. I really need to know before I go drilling holes in my rails. Thanks, maniac

if you look at the sleds out west..where there is snow..they run no wheels..we run them because we think they will stop ware...no...the real problem is no snow..use scratchers on the trails ..even if you think there is enough snow..use them..first pair of slides..300.ks...and the ones on now have over 1700 and they will get just as much..95 percent on trails this year..and there was not much snow..as far as wheels...from what i understand..the front wheels are to help keep the track running straight down the rail...i believe its mostly for when you have SC, or turbo...

I have about 10100 km's on the same set of slides that were on there since the sled was bought and they are on the wear line now. I don't have ice scratchers and do not want to/can not afford to buy them. I think I'd have them tore off the sled within a week. I'd just like to put a set of wheels where the slides are wearing really badly, they don't seem to be wearing anywhere else on the track.

The slides were pretty good when I bought the sled and I burned most of em off last winter. This year they have been on the wear line all year but they havn't burned off at all, and we have NO snow, just ice pretty much.

hahaha yeah they showed wear this past week. Lost one wheel and the bearings were gone in the other two on the rear axle so I ended up doing all the wheels in the skid. We had my Rx, a vk pro, and dads skandic 600 in the shed all with skid troubles. So far the Yammies have been fixed but guess where the Bom still is. The skid in that thing is practically gone.
