Has anyone with an RTX se used Hygear for a re valve work? If so how was the ride quality after?

No experience with hygear, but everyone I ride with has Bruce at B-line Control valve their shocks, including myself. He'll be doing my brothers SE this fall. Always happy with the results.

Thats exactly what we'll be doing to my brothers sled. Price wise, for just a rebuild/revalve their prices are not too bad vs what we usually pay at B-Line control. But I'm sticking with Bruce, cause I know he does awesome work.
He has always had a very fast turn around too. Usually I drop my shocks off and pick them up the next day or 2 days later at the latest.

I would call Ross at Hygear and for that matter any other shock company you're considering. Make sure they will back-up their setup, chances are it won't be perfect right off the bat. You may want to send them back and fine tune more. Some places will do this for free (within an amount of time) others won't. You will pay shipping but once you get it right your set. I know Hygear did a ton of research on the Nytro so I would guess they have a pretty good setup going. Myself, I'm planning to figure it out on my own, I enjoy the tinkering and have the equipment and test track so we'll se what happens. If I wasn't going to do it my self I would probably go Hygear as I used them before and was very satisfied with the results, not the bill, but you pay for what you get most of the time and they really did deliver so there was no surprises and no B.S.

I need to get my own equipment/supplies so I can rebuild my own shocks. Save a lot of money and time.

The SE has the fox float Evols on the front so you won't have to get them revalved, I thought they worked very good right from the factory. It is the rear shocks on the SE that are valved pretty poorly.
Fox floats have valve shims or stacks, pistons and oil just like any shock. It just has a air bladder at one end instead of a coil spring. It will cost about 500.00 to buy the stuff to rebuild shocks sleddingfarmer and then you will have to rent a nitrigen tank if your not a business I believe. Not really worth it if you dont do alot of shocks to rebuild. Seal kits are fairly cheap but way cheaper if you buy in bulk. As far as air pressure phatkid that only changes ride height and firmness as valving changes stroke speed and rebound.

$500 bucks eh, it might be worth it. We have about 7 sleds in our fleet, and I would probably do about another 8 - 10 family members. Sounds like more work though... we'll see

lol, x or evols? I guess I've never read what they say on the shock. Evol or x, whatever they are they sure are nice.
The X has just the big piggy back chamber, and the evol has the big and the small chamber?

Yeah I think that is right. I was on their site looking for guards and the Xs aren't even there. I'm guessing the Xevols replaced the X. I imagine the Xs can be made into Evols. I might do that next year.
Syntech sells rebiuld kits of 25 which is cost effective if you have that many per year. I think Deycore is who sells most of the tools and supplies if I remember correctly.sleddingfarmer said:bottlerocket said:Fox floats have valve shims or stacks, pistons and oil just like any shock.
