Was out in Togwotee last week with a guy who showed up with a new Push turbo running 8-9 psi of boost in a new 2010 Nytro. Owner wanted to compare my NW turbo pushing 8-10 psi to his and was very disappointed with his choice. My sled a far from stock 2008 nytro MTX (minus 80-90lbs) and is geared and clutched properly. It can lift the skis off the ground for 50 ft and climb like crazy. His was weak and anaemic. I am running the 162x2.5" new CE and he was running a 153" power claw so not exactly fair. His was also not geared or clutched to it's potential only hitting 8200 RPMs in stock dress. When pinned the sled made all the right sounds, but didn't hook up or give you the feeling that the sled was going to rip out of your hands like mine does. It also couldn't climb for crap, but that was not the motor/turbo's fault more in the rear suspension setup.
The boost control is thru the waste gate and even a slight drop of the throttle bled all the boost out and gave it a laggy response. It does gain boost fast, but can't hold the boost unless you keep it pinned. Not good for boondocking when you are on and off the throttle instantly. I didn't like it all. I would never trade my midmount NW turbo for that system. I thought the cheezy intake off the back was waiting for a tree branch to poke thru the prefilter material and suck something bad inside. Why not a simple K&N filter like most systems? There is no fuel control or ability to tune. That is good and bad depending on the user.
My impression was his sled was about the same as a stock 800 (slightly more after it was under full boost for several seconds) and mine felt like a it had another 100HP over his. I can't believe that kit was making a true 180HP. Can removing 90lbs and making another 30-40HP make that much of a difference? I don't believe so, but that's my opinion.
I believe despite being advertised as a plug and play system with full waranty I would not invest in this kit. Maybe it works better in a sled with proper clutching/gearing, but as installed it was as the owner stated "...not the experience I thought I was buying." He expected his sled to be more on par with mine.
Just a few thoughts.

Otis, this is some very interesting info! To bad his wasnt "set up" closer to yours to get a better apples to apples comparison. Thanks tho!
The Push is a rear mount. Otis has the Ulmer kit which is a mid mount.

couple thoughts...Otis and I have (had for me) the same sleds essentially...
It is always hard to compare any sleds with varying performance and or parts...
However, a couple things...
The push system is realistically first generation...any boost system is going to take time to get it tweaked and tuned to where it "could" perform...
That being said, it sounds like the person did not properly set up their Wastegate...if it is the primary system for handling/addressing pressure, you will NEVER get that system to perform at the level of the Ulmer kits...it wont happen...
However, some tweaks and additions, and it might...
It is VERY hard to compare a system that is designed as an entry level kit to a kit that is designed and was purpose built for the mountains...
that being said, several of us (Otis and myself) worked quite hard to get our systems to where they are, and buying one from Allen, your are getting a HUGE leap forward on what people like us, have been tweaking for years...
However, another caveat...not everyone can afford to do or wants to do the tweaking and changing etc. that Otis and I have had to do...Some are good with just a little more power and arent trying to tune every ounce of performance out of a machine...
For the latter...I am certain the Push will be fine...For those who want a little more, the Ulmer kit will be better....For those who want balls to the walls...you will need head shims, and bigger kits either from Allen, or from MCX, or Impulse etc. However, with the edge of power, comes other issues too...
it is all a balance...

Well stated! I wish the sled was setup better for a more fair comparison, but I don't think that would have made the difference. I agree that each kit has it's good and bad points and with every bit of boost comes more and more tuning. I know the guy who makes the Push turbos and have seen what they are capable of in Artic Cats and it's impressive. The good thing is that the kit is upgradeable and can be tuned for bigger HP if necessary. Just wanted to give anyone who cared some feedback.
BTW, I finally got my sled dialed in with the clutching. I have chased the holy grail for 2 years and finally found it. 18T top gear with the CE 162" and the shock wave was the answer for me! Sled was outstanding.
Thanks to Allen Ulmer for the advice.
