    Put my mind at ease.

Never had a starter issue, but, a couple years ago my sled was all of a sudden dead, turned out to be the starter relay where the battery is located, easy fix and I now carry a backup one, 2018 stock Viper.

A little maintenance and a potential problem

I'll give that a try, thanks.

A little maintenance and a potential problem

A buddy of mine and I pulled the foot well apart and split the caliper, removed the c-clip but couldn't get the rotor off, it's loose, but, apparently the spline get bunged up on the inside of the rotor and we couldn't get it off, we put everything back together and bled the brakes which was...

A little maintenance and a potential problem

Thanks, that seems to be the general consensus as to which is which.

A little maintenance and a potential problem

There seems to be conflicting terms on YouTube and other sites as to what particular bearings are called, some say the bearing behind the secondary belt drive is the Jackshaft bearing and some say the bearing behind the brake rotor is the Jackshaft or the Driveshaft and visa versa, in any event...

A little maintenance and a potential problem

Going with a group to New Hampshire next week for a few days and gave my 2018 Viper a once over. I wanted to clean the clutches and with just over 7,000 miles my original belt was performing well and looked good visually, I turned it inside out and it was cracked down in between the cogs all the...

    Location of scratchers 2020 Viper

I use the OTTP reversible ice scratchers that mount to the skis when riding in icy or hard pack conditions, they work quite well. I used extra washers on the skis because I had them down when backing the sled off the trailer one time and one of the scratchers caught causing the plastic on one...

    Oil separator, major problem!

I've had the same issues, no factory hose going through the belly pan would probably be an environmental issue, just do it yourself if you're sure there isn't an oil separator issue.

    Oil separator, major problem!

Have you been able to narrow down the air box getting oil in it at startup? Could it be a faulty separator or is this just what we have to deal with being Yamaha owners?

    Oil in air box

I’ll definitely keep a close eye on the oil level, I’ve never had to add oil during the season because of low levels so that leads me to believe that it’s a normal amount being pushed out and it doesn’t take much to make a mess. The next time I’m under the hood I’ll pull the separator and clean...

    Catch can

I too have had the oil in the air box issue, oil tank never over filled and sled has never been rolled over, I've already ran a high temp. hose from the separator tube that went into the airbox down through a hole I drilled in the plastic about 4" behind the muffler and put a plug in the grommet...

    Oil in air box

I'm bypassing the air box, I've already ran a high temp. hose from the separator tube that went into the air box down through a hole I drilled in the plastic about 4" beside the muffler and put a plug in the grommet that is in the airbox.
