This isn't a warranty item for me. Not Yamaha's fault. I was doing a top end run and it was perfect conditions which is rare here because we have too much snow normally. I think I definitely ran out of gear. What do you guys recommend for a primary clutch setup? I had the Evo 260 hp tune and...
9100 rpms. I had installed the complete clutch kit last year including rollers and arms. Probably had 2500 miles on this. I do mostly high mile trail rides. It was running well up until this point.
7300 miles. Thunder Racing clutch kit. I was doing 120 mph across a lake and this happened. Debris broke my secondary too and air box and hood. Pieces went right through my upper clutch guard.
I've got 7300 mostly trouble free miles on mine. I did just order the new Renegade XRS 900T, though. I'm probably going to keep the Sidewinder too. I've tried the XRS and really like the ride but the Sidewinder power is too addicting to give up. My wife is going to ride the XRS and that way...
I ran the Evo Stage 3 for 3000+ miles this Winter with the TD SQ muffler and Thunder clutch kit and it ran flawlessly as well. I never blew a belt and the clutching was spot on. I did have trouble with EVO's first clutch kit they sent me last year. It was junk.
We had a tough year over here in New England. Most of the time it was hardpack or icy on the trails. In those conditions the track was not good. I had to run scratchers all the time. When it was loose and sloppy the track worked well. I only trail ride. I thought the track was loud and it...
Here's an update after two seasons and over 7000 miles:
I've been running the Evo Stage 3 tune, TD SQ muffler and the Thunder clutch kit.
I ride a lot of high mile weekends and trips so reliability was important.
I bought a set of Fox QS3R's for the front and love them.
I changed my belt after...
I've had mine two seasons and just passed 6,000 miles. I've never blown a belt. I've been runming a tune for 4500 miles. I did have a reverse problem at 3700 miles. We fixed it when I changed my track this fall. I'm still riding and should hit 7,000 this season. I'm gonna keep it for next year.
