    2022... disappointed!

When I wrote this post, I was not saying I dislike the current sleds Yamaha produce, I own a Sidewinder and love it for what it is, a fast, comfortable, and awesome trail sled. This is my absolute favorite sled of all time! I wanted a second sled that I can play a little off trail and that my...

    2022... disappointed!

Long time Yamaha owner here. Currently have a 2017 Winder that I love and will hold on to for a while. Nothing in 2022 lineup makes me want to go out and get another Yamaha. I was really hoping for a 800 - 900 2 stroke trail and or crossover sled like all the other manufacturers have. I guess it...

    2022 Ski Doo Mach Z

Let me start by saying that I have a Sidewinder and have been Yamaha faith full for a long time but I got to just say that I thought the BRP release was down right impressive!!! I thought there was a lot of great stuff that IMHO shows why BRP leads snowmobile sales. I wish that Yamaha would...

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

I have been through all my clamps and am quite sure that there is not any boost leaks. This thing was a monster and over turning at 9,250 RPM's with the clutch set up that was in it before the switch to the TD clutch kit and XS-825 belt. The reason I changed was belts wouldn't last 200 miles. If...

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

I just cant seem to get this thing clutched right! So frustrating! I am thinking of ditching everything and going back to the setup that was on the sled when I bought it. It came with stock primary and secondary springs, stock rollers, stock weights, OEM 8JP belt, 35/39 reverse helix, and 1...

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

Thanks for the information. I agree! Very stout spring! I struggled wrapping it at 6-2 last night. Now that I have read your reply, I think I will take it back apart and try it at your recommendation. I do still have the stock spring as well so I will try both.

Well damn! Maybe this is my problem?! Maybe that sent me the wrong secondary spring?

So I checked the springs and I have the black/green primary and the secondary is black/tan

Yeah... that is what I am thinking. Going back to the stock 35 helix, empty the weights and add if needed, wrap on secondary will be 6-2 to start... I really was hoping to make the 35/39 Dalton helix work.

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

I will look when I get home. It was a complete kit from TD primary and secondary springs, QAY70 primary weights, and secondary rollers. I currently have a Dalton 35/39 reverse helix but think I might go back to the stock 35.

Wouldn't there be to much coil bind at 9-1?

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

So... I tried the TD Clutch kit with the XS 825. QAY70 weights loaded initially to 78g as recommended on the chart, secondary wrapped to 6-1 as recommended, glide washers on both sides of the primary spring, was way off. I was only able to pull 8,350 RPM's. I kept removing primary weight and am...

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

Thanks, I just ordered two XS825 belts from shade tree. I am struggling with the decision to stick with my 35/39 reverse helix or go to the straight 35. I know that the 2020's have gone to the 35/39 but all previous years had the straight 35. Why the change? Any how, guess I will try what I...

Were are you getting your XS825 from? I see them on EBAY but I saw some post some where for a lot cheaper.

    Turbo Dynamics clutch kit

Sorry, you are right, my initial primary weight is set at 77.4g... I had already set it. I will also wrap the secondary to 80 initially and adjust if needed. Glide washers on both sides of the primary spring. I will try this to start. I hope I am close with this setup, I cant afford a belt every...
